Let There Be Crumbs - Sunderland

Hi went for afternoon tea on New Year’s Eve late afternoon. The coffee was cold and the sandwich’s the bread was stale not impressed at all expected better. We upgraded to a gin it was like water. The only positive was they didn’t charge for the kiddies afternoon tea and I can see why 2 sandwiches thrown on a plate with some crisps and marshmallows no cupcake as per menu. We felt pressured to leave as obviously wanted to setup for the night do. Very disappointed and won’t be visiting again will advise family and friends not to go as well. Due to family member health issues we collected our afternoon tea and really appreciated the great customer service in allowing us to do so. The staff were very friendly. The afternoon tea was lacking in quality and content. It was purchased as a gift and I was embarrassed by how little there was for the price. Admittedly, I didn't check until I left as it was all boxed up. Some of the cakes also looked like they were from a shop-bought multipack. I called at a local farm shop on the way home and bought some quiche and pie to accompany the afternoon tea and enhance the gift. Loved it, pre booked with Groupon for afternoon tea. It was a shame it was so quiet, practically had the place to ourselves. But service was excellent and food plentiful and delicious we had tea with ours. Ordered a cup of coffee and another tea afterwards which we expected to pay for but when we asked for the bill she said there was nothing to pay. Absolutely would go back again. Well worth it. The service at this restaurant is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond to make sure your dining experience is exceptional. The atmosphere is also amazing, with a cozy and inviting ambiance that sets the perfect mood for a great meal. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I highly recommend.
