Alishaancafe - Sunderland

A group of us celebrated here, and not only was the food amazing (with good choices for vegetarians too). But, the staff were lovely and went out of their way to help us make the day special. They added sparklers and candles to the cake we brought along to the restaurant. Couldn’t fault the place and I’ll definitely return in the near future.

Fancied a curry with my brother so popped into Alishaan by the Sea. We were led to our table by a very pleasant young man. We ordered a couple of soft drinks (no alcohol here) some poppadoms starters and mains. The poppadoms were lovely and crisp, not oily at all and the chutney selection was superb with amazing flavours. When the starters arrived we were amazed by the presentation but blown away by the flavours and the tenderness of the meats. The mains were equally tasty and the fluffy garlic Nan was excellent. We couldn’t quite manage to eat everything as the portion sizes were very good but we had a good go as it was too good to leave. Fully recommend this restaurant and would go again. Well done Alishaan for a superb meal.

We live close by and hadn’t been for a long while as our first experience when it opened years ago was t the best. However we now class it as our favourite curry house. Not had a bad meal and service last night although busy was great. Well worth a visit.

Ordered the food online for 7 pm for take out. I was told cash only and I had to go out to a cashpoint. A friend paid for his meal via card a little later I was told. I wasn't impressed as I go there quite regularly. Ide understand if there was a problem but sounds more like a tax dodge tbh. I'll be going elsewhere from now on.

Absolutely beautiful meal. Relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff. New dishes to try. First time but won't be my last
