one of our best food experience in 4 weeks taiwan. the dishes were freshly prepared and really delicious. as vegetarian they get a whole menu, so I think it is more than just veggie friendly and should get 5 stars! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shan Hu:
I have a tie ban on fu and mushrooms. The mushrooms were good, but the tofu was just okay. There is a vegetarian menu in English, but the vegan items are not clearly marked. View all feedback.

It's a very casual restaurant that seems to be mom pop owned with an old man serving as the waiter (You should find him planted in front of the restaurant just 1 store away from the Visitor Center) and an old lady doing the cooking in the back. Most dishes (rice and noodles) seem to range from 100-200 NWD (around $3-6 USD)with multiple people orders at a higher price. The menu was completely in chinese and you could just write down your order if you're like me speaks Cantonese and not Mandarin. I think if you don't speak Chinese at all and feeling a bit adventurous, you should still be ok. There seems to be no drinks available so I don't know if it's alright to BYO or you'll just have until you finished to get something from the various vendors a few shops away. I thought my noodle was slightly bland but the portion was quite large and filled with various veggies. There's also no air condition but then lots of restaurants don't seem to have them either.
Tasty food and friendly staff. There are loads of veggie and vegan options
The family that owned it were super nice, we came in after they opened and they turned the lights on and let us order anyway. They have a QR code english vegetarian menu which is super handy. The fern greens was a nice salad, mushrooms and tofu dish was nice. Not amazing food but good.
Food was nice but on the expensive side compared to other meals we’ve had in Taiwan. We ordered off of the vegetarian menu and two of the dishes initially came out with meat in them, but they did quickly swap these when I said I was vegan would just double check when ordering
