Contribute FeedbackDespite challenges during COVID, this restaurant has received mixed reviews. Some felt portions were small and service rushed, while others praised delicious food and excellent service. The stroganoff and ravioli received negative feedback, while the tasting menu was a hit, complemented by great service and menu recommendations. Safety protocols impressed diners, and exceptional service from servers like Steven made the experience memorable. Overall, the restaurant offers a variety of dishes, generous portions, and a mix of positive and negative dining experiences. For those willing to chance it, the delicious meals and attentive service may make it worth a visit.
We had a fun evening at Mantles lounge followed by dinner. The hotel was quiet due to CV19 so service was quick, food hot and well prepared and the staff fun. Thank you.
Obviously understaffed during difficult covid times so these comments should bear that in mind. Valentines night dinner, we were seated in the Bar area which was okay. We ordered the special set menu at $56 a head. Scallop and salmon sushi roll. Scallop on risotto was delicious, but that’s not a typo... only 1 scallop. Salmon roll was clearly pre made and either the rice was still frozen or very crunchy. No soy sauce offered either. Mains were albacore tuna and 6oz tenderloin. Both served well, tuna was cut so thick it was a bit hard to eat. Steak was prepared perfectly. Desert was 3 premade tasters and quite enjoyable. Service was very rushed, all dishes were dropped unceremoniously in front of us like we were in a breakfast diner. Offered fresh pepper, but took several minutes to have it actually arrive at the table. No steak knife was set and had to ask for one. Long breaks in service with no plate clearing. Overall the experience was just okay, but clearly the staff were stretched thin.
I had the French onion Brie burger, I was so hungry, so I ate it with a bite of pickle to drown out the taste. Definitely wouldn’t get that again, but on a positive GF Chicken burger and fries were good and pizza was great! Service was awesome. But got email from Open table saying we didn’t make it to our reservation, in which we did and we checked in with hostess, so not sure how reliable the app is?
We reserved weeks in advance and ended up seated in a tiny table for two in the middle of the restaurant. Servers had trouble finding our table because apparently it wasn’t actually a real table. It was quite loud where we were seated. Food was good, but we were also starving. We were excited they were serving a Christmas dinner, but very disappointed there wasn’t a vegetarian option (all other restaurants we looked at during our stay had both a meat and a vegetarian option). The server was outstanding and genuinely thanked us for coming. We ended up choosing to go elsewhere for dessert as we weren’t enjoying the ambiance, where we were seated, and weren’t interested in the dessert selection. A seasonal dessert would have been nice. Mantles is also quite pricey, we got an appetizer to share, a beer each and a main and it came to over $100. During quieter times up Sun Peaks, we have really enjoyed the privacy and ambiance of Mantles, especially the patio, but unfortunately this was lacking for our Christmas dinner. Would recommend for a regular dinner, but not for another Christmas dinner.
We went there for our Christmas dinner. Server was really attentive. Food was ok.
