Was Peggy Beeley at Buster's a mag?
Buster’s is a remote iconic saloon in south central Kansas. Tap beer, good food and occasional entertainment are on the menu. I’ve been going to Buster’s for many years and even met Buster himself in the day. Love this place! View all feedback.
What Brian Alexander dislikes about Buster's:
Poor service, inconsistent food quality, high prices. The beer's at least cold....when they are open, which lately is for lunch on Thursday, and all day Friday and Saturday.I've been a customer of Buster's for over 30 years and have seen the last six owner/managers pass through, over the last couple months the food quality has taken a nose dive... A hidden gem for BBQ in Kansas! The food was served family-style, and the ribs were incredibly tender! The owner was very friendly and shared some fascinating history about the town. Definitely worth the drive from Pratt!
Our trip from Michigan to Sun City, Kansas, began with a simple phone call to Harry, the friendly owner of Buster's Saloon. We requested his permission to park our RV on E. Main Street during our 1,033-mile journey. True to his warm nature, Harry reassured us that it wouldn't be an issue and asked about our arrival time, setting the tone for a heartfelt welcome. Upon entering Buster's, you immediately sense its genuine, rugged charm, a unique quality found in historic small towns across the United States. When we arrived, Harry introduced himself from behind the bar, engaging us in light conversation about our trip and what brought us to Buster's from Michigan. As of June 2, 2024, Buster's had an impressive selection of bottled beers, with Yuengling and Bud Light available on tap. The saloon also offers a wide variety of liquors. If you enjoy spirits, I highly recommend trying a pickle shot during your visit. The taps were clean, and the Yuengling was served perfectly in a generous chalice. The atmosphere was lively, and we enjoyed engaging conversations with the friendly patrons who came and went. We decided to stay for both lunch and dinner, chatting with various customers during our time there. The food and company were exceptional; I had a hamburger for lunch and ribs for dinner, both served with a side of potatoes. My girlfriend opted for brisket at lunch and a steak for dinner, and she was equally pleased with her choices. The portions were quite generous; I even shared some of my dinner with a couple of friendly dogs that call Sun City home. After a restful night, I returned to Buster's to thank Harry for his kindness. I let him know I planned to leave a positive review, and I asked if I should mention that RV parking is allowed on Main Street. Harry confirmed that RVs and trucks that visit Buster's are always welcome to stay overnight. This amenity makes it easy for travelers to enjoy the charm of Buster's and Sun City without hesitation. I can't express enough gratitude to everyone we met in Sun City for their warmth, kindness, and willingness to share snippets of their lives and stories. Stay safe, and I hope to see you all again soon! **Parking:** RVs and trucks visiting Buster's are welcome to park overnight.
