Reviews - Murray's Donuts
Reviews summary
A beloved local, family-run doughnut shop known for fresh, standout doughnuts, classic filled flavors and occasional savory treats. Loyal customers praise the taste and nostalgic charm, while others report inconsistent service, rude staff moments, scarce menu availability late in the day, no indoor access and unclear pricing. Long drive‑through lines and limited hours frustrate some, but many still recommend it for office boxes, quick pick-ups and dependable flavor that rivals national chains.
Was Amber H at Murray's Donuts a mag?
Went to Murray's over the weekend and they were pretty good. Nice little local doughnut shop and staff was friendly. I will say the 2 cons was drive thru only you weren't allowed inside so our kids were disappointed in that aspect took the fun out of seeing and picking their own doughnut; also we noticed no prices were listed as well I don't love that. Having said that the price wasn't bad we ordered a dozen assorted... View all feedback.
What Suzanne dislikes about Murray's Donuts:
Wish you could go in. The employees are not nice at all. I purchased a strawberry filled, and the filling tasted like it had spoiled. I'm sure the owner does not care and seems to allow the employees to run the store as they see fit. Sit back and watch them run it into the ground. So sad to have a business and not care. Wow! Did I really just finish that entire apple fritter? I couldn't help myself! The same goes for the other donuts—they were absolutely delicious!
Absolutely delicious! I just tried Murray's Donuts for the first time today, and it was incredible! Even though I'm not usually a big fan of doughnuts, I would definitely go back to Murray's. The prices were very reasonable too—only $0.80 for a doughnut that really satisfied me! It’s far better than any Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Donuts!
This is a local donut shop that offers incredibly fresh donuts. They are just as good, if not better, than Krispy Kreme donuts. I also highly recommend their strawberry sundaes and chili dogs.
It was our first visit since we are new to the area and the lady at the drive through was extremely welcoming and made me feel like I was home already! It is our family thing that me and my boys go for donuts once in a while and we always like to visit the mom and pop donut shop. We are so glad to find Murray's here in Sumter and will definitely be back. The donuts were delicious and fresh and they had a great selection. My wife loves the Apple Fritter which was one of the best we've had in a while! We will most certainly be back!
One of the workers at Walmart told us about yall after we were going to buy an over priced Krispy kreme dozen of donuts, so we put them back head down here.. We told the lady at the window we want to try the best dozen of donuts yall got, so we got our boxes the first thing we thought of was the boxes reminded us of the great tv show the Simpson so it can be a good thing or bad thing but after having the first donut you can feel the love hardwork that was put into this joyful donut, they were all soo fresh very delicious, the glazed is very good, only complaint I have is the strawberry icing needs to be more strawberry tasting, wife loves the stuff lemon donut she said it was very lemony.. Murray's Donuts definitely gain a new customer..

I arrived at the restaurant at 4:27 PM, only to be told that they stopped serving hot dogs because they were preparing to close at 6 PM. The look on the employee's face clearly conveyed her concern about being reprimanded for turning away customers and declining sales, which makes me understand the help-wanted sign in the window. It’s really disheartening to witness such a lack of effort. I've been a loyal customer for over a decade, but I won't be returning after this experience. Why employ someone who refuses to fulfill their job responsibilities? Serving food is one of the simplest tasks, and this level of incompetence is both embarrassing and disappointing for a local family-owned business. It’s truly a shame.

Some locals from Sumter that I work with treated me to two freshly fried donuts, and they were incredible! I had to swing by and grab a dozen after work. These donuts are seriously delicious. I highly recommend the original glazed, but the cinnamon one is also delightful. Plus, the prices are really great!
The doughnuts here are fantastic. I always get the lemon filled and the banana cream. Fresh and delicious. Always a big favor earner when you bring a box of these to the office.
These are the best Donuts around but GOSH covid is over!!!!!! LET’S open the doors and do business face to face!! I sit in line 20-30 minutes and watch numerous people try to go inside and then leave without Donuts!! Your business would be double if YOU OPEN the Doors So people can go Inside!!!! Rant over!!!

Fantastic customer service and hands down the best donuts in the city. I've been coming here for years and have never had an issue! It’s far superior to Dunkin' and Krispy Kreme.
I absolutely love these donuts! They are even better than Krispy Kreme! They're consistently fresh, soft, and delicious. I haven't encountered a single bad one so far. I really wish they would open a location in Florence, SC!
Walked in 6am 7 Jul 2013 and saw a lady sitting at a table eating, i offered the greeting of good morning, and was met with silence. About a minute later after finishing her cellphone surfing and eating a biscuit, she stands and asks, What do I want? I again attempted to be courteous and said, good morning, again meet with silence as she then began to open the drive thru window and move other items from the counter. I was treated as if i had the plague or was less than worth to occupy the counter space. I feel as I was discriminated against; I will never set foot in Murray 's. I will do my best to stop Airmen and Soldiers from Shaw from patronizing Murray 's.
