Little Mack's - Sumrall
Little Mack's
Description
Nestled conveniently in Sumrall, Mississippi, this restaurant offers a varied dining experience, featuring a selection of seafood and Southern dishes. Guests have praised the delightful fried dill pickles and crab claws, while the Great Seafood Platter received mixed reviews, with some finding the seafood's flavor lacking. The staff is consistently friendly, with attentive service that enhances the overall atmosphere, which, while clean, could benefit from more decor. Although some dishes fell short and prices fluctuated with market rates, many would consider revisiting for specific favorites, particularly the fried cheese curds and catfish.

The fried dill pickles were good, the fried cheese curds were scrumptious, and the fried green tomatoes were okay. I ordered the Great Seafood Platter. The oysters were good, the fried shrimp was okay, and the fried catfish had very little flavor. The boiled shrimp also lacked taste, but the lump crabmeat crab cake was good with mostly crab meat. The gumbo was pretty good, but I prefer a thicker broth. The hush puppies were not good. Overall, it was a decent meal, but I probably wouldn't return unless I was in the area. I would consider getting a to-go order of the fried cheese curds, which were the best part of the meal besides the conversation. Our server was excellent and checked on us frequently, so kudos for that.
I recently dined at this restaurant and ordered the seafood platter. The fried shrimp had a great taste and were cooked perfectly, while the oysters were overcooked and hard. The grilled fish had nice char marks and was flavorful. The hush puppies were excellent, but the boiled shrimp were a bit overcooked. The baked potato was also overdone. The crab cake was disappointing, with very little crab meat and mostly breadcrumbs, and it was dry. The coleslaw was good but overly soaked in dressing. The gumbo was bland and lacked seafood. Overall, the dish was not worth the $30 price tag. The food presentation was subpar, with items sliding around on a plastic platter. However, the staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and had a nice atmosphere. The walls were a bit bare, but the restroom was clean and well-stocked. While it wasn't a bad experience, the food definitely needs improvement.
The hostess was friendly, and the waitress was attentive. However, most of the food was disappointing. The fish had no taste, the hamburger steak tasted like a frozen patty, and the gravy was not good. The baked potato was the only redeeming dish, and the roll was delicious. The gunpowder shrimp was okay but a bit chewy. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium) and was tender, but the seasoning was overpowering. The cajun corn and potatoes had good flavor but were served cold. Overall, the dining experience was a waste of $100, and I will not be returning.
The staff is very friendly, our waitress was by far the best! The food is absolutely impressive with lots to choice from. It never disappoints!
Grilled Shrimp was delicious! Large bread Roll was very hard, didn't eat that, but everything was good, even though food was not hot, but not cold. We were with a large group of about 38 people, so that explains the food temp. Regardless, we had funand the staff was very accommodating and pleasant.
