I was eager to try this place since I’ve visited D.O.A. in Tacoma a few times. Although the menu features several enticing options, my experience was just average. Today is my birthday, and I decided to check out Mini Oscar's Annex. The Moco Loco I had was decent, but I could barely taste the cheesy grits. My friend ordered the two-egg breakfast, and unfortunately, the diced potatoes were quite hard. The bacon also had an odd taste and texture. Additionally, there was only one small slice of sourdough bread, and it wasn't even toasted—it felt like an afterthought. I’m sure I’ll give them another chance, perhaps for dinner next time.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The latte was excellent! However, the food could use a little more flavor. A touch more seasoning would really elevate the dishes!
Yikes, I was served raw bacon. When I brought it up, the staff said they serve their bacon cold like that. Perhaps this should be mentioned on the menu so that customers can choose whether they want to eat cold, pink bacon alongside unmelted cheeses? They also informed me that they don’t offer refunds. I paid politely and left. I won't be returning because paying $50 for breakfast for two on a Sunday should include some expertise in preparing delicious food.
The tots were magical. Our server Levi was the best. She also had great nails. And the food well, I don?t know who they have back there making it but whoever it is they deserve a medal. Round two for breaky. Yum! All I can say is the Bacon is thethickest and tastiest I?ve ever had. It?s a meal all on its own.
