Was Jake H at Skeeters a mag?
We arrived at the dock by boat, and a friendly young man assisted us in tying up. After reading some other reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by our experience. Although it's the end of the season and things are typically slower, the service was excellent, and the food met our expectations. The highlight of the day was watching my son feed the fish. What Chandler R dislikes about Skeeters:
I would give this place zero stars if I could. I ordered a jamo shot and received a half shot mixed with what I specifically requested as a chaser. The server was extremely rude and hurried us to leave. We traveled all the way by boat from Shelbyville (Coon Creek campsite) to visit, and I sincerely hope they improve. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. View all feedback.
Stopped with our boat a couple weeks ago for lunch. The marina is nice, although the docks are a bit short. My husband and I used to live in Central Illinois so we were delighted to see horseshoes on the menu. I wish they would have had other toppings to add such as chili or some veggies to balance out the grease. Otherwise, it hit the spot. My friend did not seem to care for her wings. Our other friend said the Italian beef was good. I would give it 3.5 stars if that were an option.
Terrible. Miserably hot in restaurant. No tables available outside. We ended up getting our food to go as we both began to feel ill from the heat. Waitresses were very nice and upset they were unable to improve the temperature. No screens on windows so they could not be opened. Frog legs were not cooked thoroughly so unable to eat. Just really poor.
Don't waist your time on the weekend. Saturday night it took almost 2 hours to get our food. Food was good, but not worth the wait. Poorly managed. Waitresses had to cover inside and outside tables, so no one got good service. They need some competition on the lake.
Food was just ok. Friendly service. If you are boating good place to stop. Flies were terrible
Before our meal arrived, we fed them cat food that the restaurant provided, and afterward, we shared some leftover fries with them. We sat outside, enjoyed the view of the boats passing by, and truly savored our meal. I can tell that this will become a lake tradition for our family.
