During Memorial Day weekend, we stayed at the Sugar Hill Inn while visiting the White Mountains. We prefer staying at privately managed inns during our trips, and the charming 1700s inn did not disappoint. We received a thorough tour at check-in and were pleased with our room, the Moses Aldrich room. It was comfortable, well-appointed, and immaculately clean. The bathroom had been nicely updated as well. The inn serv... View all feedback.
What Dave doesn't like about Sugar Hill Inn:
The dining room at the Sugar Hill Inn is really described well on the website and in promotional material. The photos make the room look very elegant and the cuisine is defined as Fine Dining. It was OK and Hope our server was very nice, but the experience was far from fine dining, thought the prices were in keeping with higher quality products. I feel like the dining room is relying on past successes and accolades,... View all feedback.
We had a great weekend trip in the sugar hill inn in nickerson suite. we immediately felt welcome and within less hours there were no strangers anymore. kierstin, chris and craig surprised us with their hospitality and friendliness. they were always helping us with our stay or with fantastic local day trips. it was really nice to meet michael and hope, they are one of the nicest people we know. they looked after our desires and made our stay very comfortable. the breakfast was delicious and felt very like homemade eating. chef collin cooked amazing dinner. the salmon court was excellent, so much so that we ordered it twice in a single night and also made dinner reservations for the next night. a great experience. we are going back to see our new friends!
My husband and I booked a single night away for my birthday. I wish we booked a longer stay! We checked in early with Chris who then showed us around the property. It was wonderful to hear all about the property and the history. Chris then showed us to our cottage- the dream cottage! A dream is definitely the way to describe this wonderful cottage. As you go up the stairs you enter a beautiful covered porch with plenty of seating and a front porch swing. French doors open to the main room with the king bed, coffee area with espresso machine, couch and tv, a small table and an assortment of games and books. The other room serves space for the double vanity, large jetted tub, double sauna and large walk in shower. The only part of the room that needed fixing was the sliding door to the bathroom was broken and did not slide unless you picked it up. It was not a huge deal and honestly wasn’t a bother to us.Make sure you check days that dinner is served if you’d like dinner at the inn. We stayed on a Sunday night when the kitchen was closed. To help with our plans, Chris kindly recommended the Tim-Ber Alley in nearby Littleton, NH which exceeded our expectations and made for a fantastic dinner.I can’t say enough good about our stay, thank you so very much! We hope to be back soon!
We had the absolute pleasure of staying in the dream cottage. The cottage was beautiful, Better than I could have dreamed. The staff was amazing. Best anniversary, birthday yet.
My wife and I stayed for two great nights in the Lafayette Suite. The staff is ultra accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Not only was the historic inn cozy, it was immaculate. Looking out our window to see the sunrise and set over the mountains was an experience we will cherish forever. Highly recommend and will be back as soon as the summer heat arrives!
Had a nice stay at Sugar Hill Inn last Saturday evening. The B&B is conveniently located close to the highway but it's tucked away and very quiet and peaceful. Sugar Hill is similar to other B&B's, and part of what makes these quaint inns so enjoyable to stay at, is that each inn has it's own charm. Sugar Hill had a very good breakfast and dinner, and the room was very comfortable. The reason for the lack of 5 stars was that the AC was broken and the room was very hot. However, after talking to the owners, they brought us up a few fans and were very apologetic. They are new owners and are still working through some of the HVAC/maintenance related issues with an older building. With that being said, if you're in the White Mountains area in New Hampshire, and are looking for a nice place to stay for a night or two, I would recommend Sugar Hill Inn.
