I saw this place while I went on the street fair a few months ago and today was my time to dive. it is a very small place, but well furnished. atmosphere is authentic and my server was very helpful. I ordered my standard pad thais and as usual asked him to pick up any court he thinks brings me back to life every day. no print my pad thais were excellent, my autumn rolls were very good with the peanut sauce. all the f... What User doesn't like about Jay's Thai Kitchen:
Food is always good, but the prices keep going up and the servings keep getting smaller. $8 for chicken satay that's 4 sticks, each about 1 bite? That's pushing the limits of what's acceptable. View all feedback.
The green curry was made for my soul. I don't know how it happened, but my life feels perfect when I eat this dish. I just melt. I've tried other dishes and they're all amazing, but I'm always on the green curry. my wife laurie loves the pad thai and asks to make it less sweet, whatever comes to her joy thanks to the cook. she (the chef) is the owner whose nickname is jay and who change every dish to satisfy. this is a small place with a small staff and all are to please in it! because they are closed on Monday I will sometimes be sad, but understand that jay claim to some time for contemplation and rest.
Jay’s has marked vegetarian options on their menu and a selection of both chicken and beef seitan as well as the choice for tofu or just vegetables with most dishes. The waitress seemed to be knowledgeable about what vegan was and was able to make the fresh spring rolls vegan for my by switching out the shrimp for tofu. The spring rolls weren’t my favorite but our main course was delicious so I would come back for that alone!
I have zero complaints about this place. Wonderful little place, great atmosphere, great music, super friendly service, very accomodating, and AMAZING food. I let the server know I was vegan and he knew immediately how to have my foods prepared. I had summer rolls with tofu, tofu triangles with a great sauce, and a red curry with tofu. Let me tell you. THE CURRY. IT WAS SO GOOD. For the past two weeks since I have gone I CANNOT stop thinking about that curry. Among the best meals I've ever had. My partner and I are driving an hour to go there this weekend after me begging because we both agree it was awesome. Definitely give this place a try.
We are vegan and found this local place on Happy Cow. Almost everything can be made vegan. Very fresh and well seasoned. We especially liked the green and red curries
Jay's Thai opened a few months ago and is already getting a loyal clientele. As borderline vegans, my wife and I have eaten here at least 7 times. Jay will make most dishes on the menu vegan upon request and is always adding new delightful variations. The venue is small so get there on the early side of the dinner hour because they're packing them in. Great service and atmosphere and reasonable prices make this an enjoyable place to eat out with friends and It's always pretty easy to find parking in Suffern. The summer rolls, sauces and other appetizers are amazing and the entrees are delicious. I love the Pad Thai hold the egg. I feel like going there tonight. Writing this is making me hungry!
