Silver Falls State Park - Sublimity
Silver Falls State Park
Description
Tucked into lush forest, this state park offers a cinematic loop hike past roughly ten waterfalls—some with trails that let you walk behind the cascades. Well‑maintained paths range from short, accessible walks to a 7–8 mile moderate canyon loop with stairs, inclines and endless photo opportunities.
Facilities include parking, a cafe, restrooms at the main lot, picnic areas, a gift shop and camping, but popular trails get crowded, cell service is spotty and bathroom access along the route is limited. Ideal for photographers, families with moderate fitness and avid hikers.

This is a beautiful, well maintained park! The trail of 10 falls is amazing! Because of the beautiful scenery it can get a little busy or crowded in spots. There are endless photo opportunities. The park could use a couple more bathrooms along the way but I imagine that would be difficult to do and maintain so I understand why they aren't there. You can make this a quick walk by only doing some of the shorter loops or go all out with over 7 miles of moderate hiking for stunning views.Dogs are only allowed on certain trails, FYI.
Wow just wow! Such a beautiful place. Excellent trail maintenance and majestic waterfalls. Unloved my visit here! Great hike. All trails marks it as easy, I would say on the medium side. Would be difficult for people with injuries or stability issues. Bring a walking stick if you have any trouble with balance!
Amazing park. A cafe, plenty of parking, beautifully cared-for paths, and picnic areas. It's still a bit of a hike, though, with plenty of elevation changes, so you'll get a great workout. But the views...they will take your breathe away as much as the hiking will!
GETTING THERE Download the map (on Google) and also AllTrails app if you have it. There was no service on the road getting to the park on the trails (except at the South Falls parking lot area) The road was a tad windy. If you do get carsick, maybe take something beforehand to help! START AT SOUTH OR NORTH FALLS? So, we parked at North Falls Trailhead went counterclockwise to do the entire loop. Buuuttt if I had to do it over again, I would get to the park early (before 10am) park at South Falls trailhead and go clockwise, but not do the North Falls route (take the winter trail to get back to the South Falls parking lot). If you go counter clockwise, you end up going up a bunch of stairs. Once you finish this loop, I'd take a bathroom snack break because there are flushing toilets here vs at North Falls there's only 1 vault toilet. I'd drive over to North Falls parking lot see North Falls. In mid Sep, Winter Falls was dry Twin Falls wasn't much to look at. Also, Rim Trail was super boring it's parallel to the road so all you hear is car noise! So, I would just view North Falls maybe Upper North Falls and then head home! Notes: If you need to pay for the day pass, the machine at South Falls only accepts CASH. The South Falls accepts card. The hike was easy moderate definitely doable without much equipment
This is the PERFECT hike! You have the option to take numerous different trails, all of them leading you to one or more waterfalls. I opted to hike the entire trail (a total of approximately 7.5 miles). The hike itself is listed as moderate in terms of difficulty, and I would agree. There are numerous inclines, stairs, and rocky paths that make it more challenging than a simple nature walk. It's a great workout without being too much. But let's talk views oh my god. The entire hike was absolutely stunning. The forest is so well kept, the trail is in great condition, and there were about ten waterfalls to see along the way. There are also caves and swimming holes to enjoy. I will be returning time and time again. This is going to be a staple spot for me.
