I go there regularly, sitting outside people watching when the weather is good, inside when it's not. I like it best on market days (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday), when the locals walk past, lugging bags of fruit and veg, arms full of flowers, and fresh pretzels from Cafe Nast around the corner. The restaurant is in a narrow cut-through between the market square and the market hall, full of delicatessen, fresh breads, cakes and chocolate. Fruit is of very good quality (and priced accordingly).Lausterer seems to be popular with locals, many obviously regulars, who appear to have their favourite dishes. Daily specials are often based on local and seasonal produce like asparagus, mushrooms etc, but I prefer the standard menu for Swabian specialities, super fresh and competently cooked. Desert menu is limited, probably because the generous portions don't leave any room for pudding anyway. Friendly service, never intrusive or over familiar, but always acknowledging their regulars and making them feel welcome.
Because, above all, in the upper part of the royal street restaurants are lacking, and as so often unfortunately international fashion chains dominate, we were glad to have found a nice local close to the lukewarm, which is apparently also visited by local residents. the service was fast and very friendly, the selection of local oriented large and the dips perfectly.
Tasty! friendly service! delicious food! happy again! centrally located it kalbsschnitzel with kartoffelsalat and latezle!
Great wine bar with a nice, small menu and a very large selection of wines by the glass. The service is very attentive and experienced, and the atmosphere is lovely and cozy, with some high tables as you'd expect from a wine bar. My husband and I were there and we felt very comfortable. We'll definitely come back on our next visit to Stuttgart.
