The staff does not speak English but then its located in Germa... read more We ate here for breakfast our first day in Stuttgart. We liked it so much we came back every day. The staff does not speak English but then its located in Germany, in the city center that isn't a real tourist attraction so why would they? They were so helpful with gestures and helping us with the menu anyway by taking the time to show us what the items were. The food was fresh and the pastries were exceptional! We chose to eat upstairs in the restaurant area where staff could help a bit more since we didn't know much German.

Die Brezel ist n... read more Schon das Stadtmagazin "Prinz" hat 2007 unter 101 Stuttgarter Bäckern die schlechteste Brezel ermittelt. Klarer "Sieger" blieb der Bäcker Lang. Die Brezel ist nur ganz frisch aus dem Ofen und mit viel Butter genießbar. Schon zuhause angekommen ist sie hart und schmeckt wie einen Tag alt ("altbacken"). Der Rest auf ähnlichem Niveau.

The place does offer... read more The Backeri Lang is located right opposite to the IB Hotel, Am Wallgraben and in the middle of the industrial area of Vaihingen, Stuttgart. The place does offer good customised coffee like extra strong or extra hot but doesn't seem to have good food options especially if you are looking for something vegetarian or something really hot. The place has a unique 11th coffee free after your 10 coffees offer which is good for people frequenting this place or coming for their daily coffee, however the pricing of the coffee seems to be little on the higher side. One of the other downside is that this place closes by 16:00 hours which means you will have to either rush before it closes to get your last cuppa or settle for either McD or the bakery at Vaihingen bahnof for your coffee after 16:00 hours.

The waitress was astonished we couldn't speak German by the way. After lots of gesturing and single English words, we settled on the breakfast that was referred as their best. Breakfast included several cold cuts, cheeses and little bit of scrambled eggs. These were acceptable but the bread was exceptional. Bread was fresh and tasty. But the english breakfast teabag they used was horrible. At 10 euros per person it wasn't a good deal.What astonished me was the experience at the washroom. Two ladies sat in front chatting (I later noticed they had a dish of change). They ignored me on my way in. On my way out, they yelled at me loudly and rattled the dish in front of them. I couldn't understand a word they said but could gather they wanted tips. Really? At an establishment of this caliber? And by yelling?

Unfortunately the bakery is open only till 4 pm in the evening.Their stand-out feature is 1 free coffee that you get after you complete 10 coffee at this place. If you are someone working around this place, you would be having a free coffee atleast once in a fortnight.The pricing is competitive with the quantity offered and you can as well request the coffee to be made extra strong or extra hot.
