Spent a night here recently, wee birthday road trip. Beautiful surroundings and views had us sitting at the window of our room just looking out. Our room was decorated in keeping with the style of the hotel, very comfortable and spacious. The Staff were very friendly and polite when talking to guests, nothing was a bother. Our evening meal was superb, they managed to cater for my dietary needs without any fuss. My on... View all feedback.
Lovely location, superb scenic drive to get here, thin walls for such an old building (you can tell if the person in the next room has the fidgets, cos all the floor boards creak), and no coffee in the room, I guess cos they expect you to dial for it. Very disappointed that for the 2017 best dog friendly hotel of Britain you can’t sit with your dog in the bar, which really is not right and it’s the reason we came (so we sat outside), But nice treats in the room for him, and splendid grounds to walk.... ...BUT......the food ranks as one of the top ten meals of my life!! Proper culinary experience and a bespoke vegan menu....a serious taste extravaganza which we won’t forget in a hurry! Sounds pompous, but when it’s really good, it’s worth saying. Fab wine. Very good selection of whisky, but could benefit from a couple of the non standard bottles from a couple of the distilleries on the list.
We live on the Ardnamurchan peninsula and have struggled to find a place where we can have a rally nice Sunday Lunch in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Coupled to this we are always welcomed as friends not just customers. The Menu is always a joy always a new treat to try and always followed by coffee in the relaxed and wonderful surroundings of the hotel lounge. You can pass several hours in utter comfort and the beautiful surroundings of Kilcamb Lodge... And then there 's to vies of Loch Sunart and grounds, from every window is a vista of true beauty. In our humble opinion Kilcamb is one of west coast of Scotlands true gems... 'Shhhh don 't tell everyone ' it 's our secret... Its now a firm favourite of ours I can 't recommend it highly enough... Our next must at Kilcamb is to book for an evening meal... Thanks to the team and see you again very soon... Toby and Helen. X
Exquisite afternoon tea, fantastic service, really comfortable lounge to sit in rather than in a dining room.
Right troops, listen up. My partner and I had never been to Kilcamb before, a relative had and had raved about it. Now I know why. From start to finish our experience at Kilcamb was fabulous. The lady who greeted and seated us was so nice with some of the friendliest customer service I've experienced. We have just had an absolutely outstanding meal, maybe the very best I've ever had...and as a self confessed fatty, I've eaten in my fair share of places, believe me!. The attention to detail was impeccable and the flavour and quality of the food was out of this world. Everything I put in my mouth, even a simple piece of humble carrot, was the best bit of carrot I've ever tasted. There is some serious wizardry going on in the kitchen. £25 for three courses on a Sunday for 4* and 3AA rosette standard grub..ridiculously cheap!.. Now here's the kicker and don't say you weren't warned...The price of booze will make you faint...£7 for a vodka and diet coke (25ml) Sweet baby Jesus I hear you say!!!. Kilcamb is a real treat so treat yourself and go!!!.
The food and staff we have been going there for a long time in fact since theirSunday lunch was £15 and we only once had to complain in all these years and the complaint was dealt with and we never had it again. It's not so far away on a lovely drive from the ferry and the staff make you so welcome. I highly recommend the Sunday lunch, the tables are dressed lovely and the wine glasses are beautiful.
