Great place to hang out, get coffee, lunch, or dinner. Nice outdoor space. Pup friendly. Really neat interior in the coffee lounge. Try their apricot oatmeal bars.. they are addicting. Parking: Parking right outside is free. Not common, but awesome! View all feedback.
What Jennifer Geminn doesn't like about The Abbey On Butler Street:
Was looking forward to going someplace new. Out with friends and enjoyed the overall atmosphere. Great crab dip but entrees were underwhelming and a bit disappointing. Was so looking forward to dessert as waitstaff mentioned in house pastry chef, too bad he kept ignoring us and never really came to check once we were done with dinner. Would like to think they were just busy, but a quick stop to tell us so would have... View all feedback.
Been coming here for years.. The food, drinks and atmosphere are great. However the female hostess is rude and makes you feel unwelcomed EVERY single time! My friends and I all agree. And with or without a reservation . ? WTH?? One example: had patio reservations w my daughter. We were the only ones there and they wouldn’t seat us bc “it might rain”, so we sat in the bar area waiting.. nobody offered us a drink or even water.. 30 mins later I went to the hostess podium and got snapped at again, only to find they had sat the next party on the patio already!!! All 5 of us in the building were their customers at the time (us and them)
Our server was sweet but took her time checking on us often. The drinks were horrible and were not at all what we ordered especially for the pricing. It was not busy at all, but took forever to get our food , other tables that came well after us even got there food before us and a lot of it was the same dishes as us. My grandmother didn’t want mussels in her dish and asked for them to keep them out, it seemed like the server was scared to go ask the chef to sub extra shrimp instead of the mussels, she came out and said no they can’t do that… Brought the salad out after the main dish was served and they forgot multiple extras that we ordered. Staff seems miserable and not polite at all except our server. Food and drinks were dang near thrown on the table not saying enjoy nothing just walked away. The food was not hot at all. Steaks were cold and undercooked. Our family has spent tons of money in this place, sad to say we’ll never go back.
This is an amazing restaurant. I was there for brunch. Quality food all seemed made from scratch. I had the smothered chicken biscuit. It was really great. The server did a great job and had it together.

Their espresso bar (featuring Commonplace) rivals Espresso a Mano and their pastries, made in-house, are PHENOMENAL. This place is killer. EDIT 2024: This place has changed a lot since it first opened, and it doesn't have the same charm that I experienced years ago.
