We played in the fall and finished our round at sunset. It was the most stunningly beautiful course I've ever played, like a magic wonderland. It plays a bit slow due to some holes being cartpath only, but it's the kind of course where you want to take your time and enjoy the beauty. The restaurant was wonderful too! View all feedback.
What Mike Stone doesn't like about Boulder Creek Golf Club And Event Center:
Beautiful course BUT, I just paid $56.65 to play a weekday morning (senior rate no less). This price included a $1.65 credit card fee. One would think at that price, the course would be in PERFECT condition. NOT A SINGLE SAND TRAP WAS RAKED…NOT EVEN ONE. I expect more from a course ESPECIALLY at that price. View all feedback.
The pace of play was terrible, taking over 5 and a half hours for a round. It's evident that the course conditions have deteriorated somewhat. It used to be one of the top courses. While the layout is still impressive, there are many areas under repair, the greens are not in optimal condition, and several bunkers have not been well-maintained. I likely won’t be returning to play here in the near future.
The course has a nice layout, but the greens could use some extra care, as there were numerous unfilled divots. Additionally, the pin placements were somewhat inconsistent. Aside from that, the course is in good condition. On the 18th hole, the pin was situated on a slope, which caused the ball to roll back 10 feet towards you if you missed the hole.
The course was in excellent condition. It features a challenging layout with beautiful scenery. The greens were receptive and rolled smoothly, though I encourage everyone to repair their ball marks—this isn't an issue with the course itself.
All GPS have been taken out of the cart. And for the price that you pay GPS's should be in the carts. Putting greens were very good, the rest of the course was just okay not as beautiful as what I thought.
Poorly managed tee times/pacing that leads to an all around bad experience for everyone. We called months ahead to schedule 6, and they put us at one tee time. We figured they knew what they were doing, and spaced other tee times appropriately otherwise I would've expected them to give us 2 times for 3 and 3. When we tried to tee onto the course they gave us a hard time for having 6, when they knew for weeks/months that's what they scheduled us for (and then tried to gaslight us). We proceeded to split 4 and 2, and then later had a pair behind us call to complain about speed. A complaint that was clearly caused by their lack of care or attention to detail in who they scheduled and for when. Seeing that other reviews have mentioned this for years, they clearly don't care and would rather sacrifice customer experience in order to get as much as possible
