A great option for families. Right in the lobby of Black Bear Lodge, its very convenient and the food is wonderful. They do delivery for the rooms and around the base of the mountain. The new chef has really improved the menu, and is friendly with the guests when dining in.Been here twice during Covid and had a great meal both times. View all feedback.

we are there last Saturday for dinner. I felt like we were discriminated. we have specifically asked for a la carte menu and the waitress told us that they only serve buffet food and we eat, but 10 minutes later came another group and they asked for the a la carte menu and the same waitress said they have brought the menu and they explained the whole menu for 5 minutes. on the other side, she didn't even see our face... I still don't understand. is it because of our skin color? I will not recommend this place to any colored skin man!
I went through the hotel lobby and heard live music from the restaurant. there was a gitarist. So I thought I'd just get a sandwich in the cash as I had done before. the bartender gave me a very spicy bar-food menu and said it was that or the buffet dinner. no participants available. I think because of the personal problems in restaurants everywhere. Anyway, the crabcakes I got were pretty good and it was nice to have live music. but if they plan the dinner, note that from februar 2022 it was only a fat. menu image attached here.
A great restaurant right in the black bear lodge, just far enough away from stratton village
Amazing personal! terrible awful food! avoid them at all costs! Thursday afternoon buffet at night for 2 71$ and eating was revolting, even the salat was disgusting! avoid them at all costs!
Horrible Horrible Horrible service. Even with a reservation you will stand at the entrance for up to 10 minutes and the staff ignores you. Up to an hour wait for already made soup as an app and another 30 for steamed mussels that came out luke warm and undercooked. Problem is not many options open early in the week. Easy 6 to 8 staff running around with only 20 tables seated. And I was in the biz front and back of the house for decades!
Nestled within the Black Bear Lodge at Stratton Mountain, this restaurant offers a mixed dining experience characterized by cozy decor and live music. While diners have enjoyed highlights like flavorful duck wings and tasty burgers, service inconsistencies raise concerns, including long wait times and inattentive staff. Some guests encountered hygiene issues during buffet dinners, and there are complaints about food quality in takeout orders. Still, many families appreciate the convenient location and improved menu under a new chef. Despite its challenges, the restaurant remains a favored post-slope spot for hearty meals and a warm atmosphere, appealing to visitors seeking a cozy dining option.

This restaurant at Stratton Mountain offers ample parking. We called ahead for takeout and were not disappointed. The food was prepared quickly, which was perfect after our 7-hour drive. My husband ordered the pork chop, and it was fantastic. I opted for the burger, which was excellent. Our child enjoyed his chicken tenders from the kids' menu. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese, and it was very tasty. The tables were properly spaced for social distancing, and the staff was extremely friendly. I will definitely return!
Had a very late snack w my kid and i had scallops. 1/2 portion was available for a decent price which was very good for late snack if u don't want to-overeat Ice cream was delicios. Came back to same place for dinner ww friends, just as great. Great friendly service. Delicious food, besides it being located in bear lodge with pool sauna, game room and nice after ski atmosphere to spen an evening!
Heard some mixed reviews about this place...decided to give it a try anyway. Sadly I understand the low reviews now. At first the restaurant seemed fine we got our drinks and appetizer relatively fast except for an apple cider that we asked for maybe 3 times before we received it. After finishing our appetizer a different server tried to bring us another plate of the same thing which was confusing. Then our server let us know that the kitchen was having some problems and offered us bread to hold us over. Fast forward about an hour and 30 minutes and we still had not received our food...not only that but our server never came back to check on us. Once again someone else tried to bring food over to us but realized he was at the wrong table. The final straw was we saw others receive food who came after us and we decided to pay for the drinks and leave. Place seems poorly managed so beware if you think about eating here. *Also previous yelper mentioned the smell of chlorine as a you walk in and i agree there was a strong chemical smell
I do not recommend dining at this restaurant. Tonight, they offered a buffet, but there was no enforcement of mask-wearing. Families with children were hovering around the shared food trays, and some children were even serving themselves with their hands. We brought this to the attention of the staff, but no action was taken. We quickly paid our bill and left, informing the staff at the Black Bear hotel, only to be told that nothing could be done. It was a very disappointing experience; masks should definitely be required in a buffet setting.
I wouldn't recommend ordering food from here. I understand that everything has been more challenging due to COVID-19, but considering the prices they charge, it’s hard to justify. To put it bluntly, even Wendy's and other fast-food places serve a better-quality chicken sandwich, which was dry and lacked flavor. On top of that, they added a hefty gratuity to our takeout order.
