I have passed by this place numerous times and decided to stop by on a Sunday after visiting the National Trust for a meal. The restaurant was quite busy with large groups, but they had a table available for us. They offered a menu where you could choose 1, 2, or 3 courses. View all feedback.
What Bloke1947 doesn't like about The White Hart:
Oh dear, it could be so much better. To start with it needs a spring clean and some. Dirty stone floor, carpets filthy, walls need a new coat of emulsion etc etc. Staff- two young ladies very helpful, no complaints towards them, however the chef needs to ensure that when the food comes out it is actually HOT. My wife’s Turkey was warm, the carrots cold and even the bowls the vegetables were served in were cold. Inter... View all feedback.
We had a delicious roast lunch, beautifully cooked. The service was excellent, very friendly and efficient. Can't wait to go back!
Super place for good, simple food in a warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Very clean. Staff extremely helpful the cook even came out from the kitchen as we'd asked how the delicious Beef in Guinness with Colcannon (their special that evening) was made. We had a dog with us, so ate in the pub bit rather than in their dining room, and it was delightful a number of very pleasant customers, young and old, enjoying it AND NO JUKEBOX!!! Other things on the menu burgers (with lots of fabulous sauces), pizza, fish chips, another special (boeuf bourguignon), etc.
Stopped here for a few drinks on a very hot day, service was good and friendly . We didn’t have any food but did sit outside. Was nice to sit and watch the world go by. Decor inside a bit dated and as others have said could do with a refresh or clean up. Saying that, place was quite busy so obviously doesn’t keep the locals away

Disappointed I am afraid
Staff are very friendly and do a wonderful job. Our meal was tasty (haddock, chips peas). Pudding was home made and was excellent. To finish the evening off the chef did us an excellent liquor coffee, not listed on the drinks menu, but we asked and they delivered. Overall a very good experience and it appears a business growing and eager to please the customers. from us. Keep it up. I'd highly recommend and will come back next time we are in the area.
