The meals at this restaurant were disappointing for the price. Both the salmon and blue eye were overcooked, and the octopus was tough. When charging these prices, it is important to ensure that the food is of high quality.
We arrived late in Strahan and found that many restaurants were closed, so we went to the waterfront around 8pm in search of something to eat. There were four eateries on the main strip, but most were quiet or closing. We decided to try the pub, as it seemed like the best option. The menu was limited, as we had expected. We ordered a plate of chips and chicken wings, which were decent. However, the atmosphere was quite dull, so we quickly ate our food and left. The price per person was around A$20–40. Overall, we would rate the food a 3 out of 5.
Dined in for two consecutive days, totally different feelings️ Day 1 : The beef 300gm cape grim scotch fillet was fabulous. Perfect barbecued nose and tender. Tasmanian blue-eye Trevalla was too firm in texture. Felt like dry chicken breast Day 2: Love the beef of Day 1 and encored. However this time was very disappointed. The charcoal flavor became too intense and turned into a burnt taste, very bitter. Requested to change another one but did not improve a lot. Tasmanian salmon is okay.
