My wife and I, who do not have children and do not live near any relatives, prefer not to cook a big holiday meal just for the two of us. Instead, we like to find local restaurants that offer holiday buffets. After trying several options, we have found that the best holiday buffet in northwestern Vermont is at a restaurant where the food is cooked right in front of us in an open kitchen using locally sourced ingredie... We had a wonderful time sitting at the bar. Jason was our bartender, and he shared some interesting information with us about the longevity of Kahlua. He truly deserves recognition for his outstanding service. Just ask him for anything, and he will deliver. I highly recommend this place. Thank you again!

We had a great time sitting at the bar. Jason is an excellent bartender. He even shared some valuable information with us about why Kahlua might not be the best choice. He truly deserves a raise! Just ask and he will make sure you have a great experience. I highly recommend this place. Thank you again!
My wife and I don't have children and we don't live close to any of our family members, so we usually prefer not to cook a big holiday meal when it's just the two of us. Instead, we like to find nice local restaurants that offer holiday buffets. After trying out several options, we have found that Solstice, in the northwestern Vermont area, has the best holiday buffet. The food is excellent and prepared right in front of you in an open kitchen, using locally sourced ingredients. Almost everything is fresh and not from a big distributor like Sysco. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing.
My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant on our first night of our stay. We brought our dog with us, so we sat in the lobby. The server initially brought fries instead of salad as a side for my burger, but quickly corrected the mistake. We later found out from our waitress that the lodge brings in trainees/interns from around the world, which we thought was cool. This may explain some past reviews mentioning slightly imperfect service. Regardless, we ordered a burger ($18), a club house sandwich ($18), and crab rangoon as an appetizer. The food was delicious, though the prices were on the higher side (which is to be expected at a luxury hotel). The crab rangoon was particularly outstanding.
