One of our favorite spots in Stowe from our recent trip. A little pricey like everything else in Stowe, but the food, drinks and service were excellent. The dry rub wings were so good! What Louise Borremans doesn't like about Doc Ponds:
Several little bites such as peanuts, pickled veggies and olives. Great drinks and atmosphere. Best to go here for a pre-dinner drink than for dinner. The potatoes (without the cheese sauce) are also very good, as is the bowl of sautéed greens. Updated from previous review on 2022-01-13 View all feedback.
We were seated right away in for lunch, with Abbey Road on the turntable, and Fleetwood Mac Rumors on deck…black t-shirt clad wait staff bustled around and my 51 year old self felt right at home. Service was friendly and efficient and the menu worked great with the ever-present VT craft beer selection they had on tap. We sampled some small plates, (white fish with saltines, cheddar fritters) and each got a seasonal salad with chicken thighs. All was tasty, and thoughtfully prepared. [when I learned they are owned by the same people as renowned Hen of the Woods, I wasn’t surprised. Doc Ponds felt like the cool, laid-back brother to that place. Good genes
One of the best dinner spots in Stowe. They have a turntable playing records that’s curated by the host or hostess throughout dinner. Very cool. The food is incredible, so don’t be skeptical of their smallish menu. Beer list is also top notch. Highly recommend.
I love docs for the beer and the memories, but the vegan options are not marked and super limited.
Friendly and fast service! Sah on the terrace with our pup and had a great experience. The BBQ chips were burst with taste and crunch. Loved the unique roasted peanuts. My husband thought the chicken sandwich and the French fries were delicious. I ordered the market salad and it was fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend!
Stop here for a late lunch while shopping in Stowe, had some light plates and they were all delicious! In any case it would recommend that it will come first served. You can put your name down and wait for a table or you can try to find space at the bar.
