Candlelight cafe had one of the best breakfast tacos I’ve had. The tortillas were freshly made and you can tell the attention they put into their food. Really enjoyed their salsa as well! And they have a beautiful dog friendly patio! View all feedback.
What Leslie Rodriguez doesn't like about Candlelight Coffeehouse/ Pourhouse:
I really tried but was immediately put off. The atmosphere is nice and I will not take that away from this place. Besides that, I was not impressed. Service was slow for there only being 5 tables filled. Had to keep asking for our drinks and my food was subpar at best. I ordered the chilaquiles but what I got was a clump of fried tortillas that I could not even cut apart. Decided just leave my meal. View all feedback.

Great staff and a shaded outdoor area that's dog friendly! I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the breakfast tacos which came with tortillas made from scratch, generous portion, served with fresh salsa that was well balanced in its smoky/spicy ratio. Had 3 tacos in total but 2 would have been plenty. Definitely up on the list with the best served breakfast tacos!

From the friendly staff to the homemade tortillas, this place is worth a visit. Enjoy the whimsical backyard, enjoyable music, and the laidback atmosphere where the chefs come to the tables themselves to check on your satisfaction. Start your brunch off with cocktails; I recommend the blackberry lavender latte with Irish cream. If you can't decide on which great dish to order, they have smaller options like chicken and waffles on a stick. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and incredibly juicy. Again, trying to decide between all the options, I decided to order the Caprese Benedict with a side of smoked salmon to add to the top. I was not disappointed! Close to downtown but tucked away enough to have a quiet date, don't miss out on this San Antonio gem... The only downside is that it's only open on the weekends.
Came here 3 times only once did things go well. First visit was on Mother’s day, it was super busy with not so great service. But, it was Mothers day and busy so why not give it another try. My second visit went ok and because of this I decided to come a third time. Things started out nice, until it came time to pay my bill of $56.57. They use a system through Toast for the customer to make orders and pay when finished. I go to the app to pay but forgot to transfer funds from one account to another. Because of this mistake, I was charged what ever I had in my checking account which was $53.32 and was left with a balance to pay. However, the app didn’t update, it showed I still needed to pay the full amount. I tell the manager, he runs inside to check if my transaction went through, it did not. I show the manger my bank account showing that the transaction went through and there must be a problem/ glitch in the system. I was told to make the payment and the remaining balance will be deducted. I transferred more money to my checking account to cover the cost and again it took everything from my account which was $38.95. I go inside to let the manager know it happened again, with more attitude than before he tells me he can’t help me. I try explaining that I can’t just keep paying them money. He tells me the owner isn’t there and there is nothing he can do. He goes on to tell me that they get their food delivered every morning and is cooked fresh and that’s why the food was expensive. I was so confused at this point because why are we talking about the food being expensive, I just want to pay my bill which so far I’ve paid $92.27, thats $35.70 more than what my bill was to begin with. Then he tells me again he he can’t help me and that he has 40 customers to tend to. I’m trying to stay calm and so I ask him if I should call my bank and he tells me “please do”! I ask my boyfriend to pay so we can get things over with and figure it out at home. I call my bank to dispute the charges, I get a refund 3 days later. Because of the horrible customer service we didn’t tip but when my boyfriend’s transaction cleared he noticed they added a $10 tip. The audacity of this place is wild!!!!
