The Waterside - Stone Mountain
The Waterside
Description
Once a polished hotel restaurant, it now delivers uneven experiences: standout salads, freshly baked rolls and occasionally attentive servers contrast with burnt omelettes, lumpy grits, sparse buffets, slow service and wrong orders. Patrons note warm hospitality at times and dishes suited for special occasions, but staffing problems, missing advertised menu items, sticky floors and a 20% automatic charge undermine value. Recent ownership changes may explain inconsistent quality; visit for a memorable dish when service is strong, but expect variability.

The buffet is quite pricey, but the variety of food is limited. The salad bar is rather sparse, and the service is extremely slow. There are only two dessert options available. Overall, I am very disappointed.
I'm currently staying at this hotel and wanted to share my thoughts on the breakfast. Unfortunately, it was not worth the price. We ordered omelettes, but they were burnt, and the grits were lumpy. The eggs had a flavor that resembled powder. To make matters worse, there is a 20% automatic service charge. The servers also seemed disengaged from their work.
Way overpriced for the quality of food. Powdered eggs and chicken sausage. What the hell is chicken sausage.
I ordered the salmon and rice and it was decent. But my girlfriend ordered roasted chicken and rice and the chicken was hard as a rock and overcooked and asparagus undercooked. Our daughter ordered a turkey sandwich which was wrong when sent to her. The waitress absolutely took too long between orders and seemed to forget us. I ordered wings to go and was told they ran out after I ask where they were. I will not eat here again and overspend $85 of not so good food.
