This restaurant is always busy because they offer high-quality products at reasonable prices. The bread, cakes, biscuits, and drinks are all delicious, and the staff is very friendly. There is a bus stop nearby, which is convenient for customers. Everything is well-packaged and fresh. View all feedback.
What William Reid doesn't like about Pound Bakery:
The food at this restaurant was cold, indicating it had been left out for a while. The eggs were particularly bad and should have been thrown away. It was concerning to see staff handling sandwiches without gloves, failing to wash their hands, and risking contamination with salmonella. This is a dirty and unsanitary place that should be avoided. I have to say, this was probably the worst food I've ever had, and I've traveled all over the world so that's saying something. I'm not from around here and just wanted a quick sandwich and a drink. I had never been to one of these shops before, but it was the only place open that I could find. I ordered two Bacon and Sausage Rolls and a cup of tea. The tea was terrible, it tasted like warm water and the tea bags must have been the cheapest available. The rolls were awful as well, with the hardest bacon and stiffest sausages I've ever had. And to top it off, the muffins were dry and served without any butter or margarine. When I checked what was actually on the rolls, I found very little filling. I went back to complain and was told that if I wanted more filling, it would cost me 60p per item. I pointed out that there was no bacon on my roll, but the assistant just repeated the price. It was totally outrageous! I ended up throwing everything away in the nearest trash bin. In my opinion, they are taking advantage of people by serving substandard food. It's absolutely outrageous!
The Pound Bakery Krispy cakes are absolutely delicious. They are made with corn flakes, coated in just the perfect amount of chocolate, and topped with a chocolate egg. I highly recommend them.
The service is generally quick at this restaurant. The food is decent for the price. I'm not sure how they make a profit unless they are using local rats to make the meat pies (just kidding). The pizza slices are definitely worth trying.
