Arrived early, guests arrived and drinks were given out in turn, but had to remind them we wanted table so 30 minutes late to sit, no issue really but 30 minutes later still no starters. Table booked for 8 starters arrive 9:15. Bit too long, the mains about 10pm just all too long, yes made time for drinking but.... Anyway, food was very nice lots of gorgeous meat, didn’t get any fries so perhaps more would have been... View all feedback.
Another gem for cocktails in Stockholm! The place was very intimate and charming with a very interesting menu showcasing about 12-15 drinks. Everything...

A very nice locale with white tile, brass and cooky art, odd vintage chairs, white table cloth and candlelight. Svartengrens is a meat restaurant and the...
We had an exceptional meal at Svartengrens when visiting Stockholm. It was our anniversary meal and was the perfect choice. Stunning venue, excellent staff and exceptional food. The staff were accommodating and knowledgable, and paid so much attention to us through the evening. Incredible steaks and sides, topped off with “the best negroni ever” (according to my other half! . A must visit in Stockholm. Thanks to Frederick and others for making the evening so special
Nice restaurant decor, and the reviews looked positive albeit most (in English) were a year old. The starters were good, wine was nice, the sides were basic, with the french fries heavily salted. This is a steakhouse which prides itself on the quality of the meat and unfortunately when I saw the 6 week dry aged steak (330g) which was at least 25% fat and the grizzle showing it didn 't bode well. It was also heavily salted which when combined with the french fries was not pleasant. Looks aside I tried three pieces from around the steak and whilst cooked to medium rare as I ordered was very tough, so tough I summoned the waitress and asked her to take it away. She did this and came back with what has to be one of the most bizarre lines, The chef says he can warm it some more for you if that would help? . Sadly nothing could have helped this steak becoming tender apart from putting it through a mincing machine a few times! I made it clear that stating something so ridiculous was not acceptable and to make sure it wasn 't on the bill. The others faired better in the group but they weren 't succulent by any means, just less tough than mine. When the bill came and it had two errors, my steak was priced and two extra sides were added. I pointed this out and was met with You still have to pay for the steak you didn 't eat That 's when I saw red, I explained that under no terms was I paying for it. I was happy to pay for everything else but not that or the two sides which we didn 't order or have. She disappeared and came back with a new bill and said to avoid an argument they would make an exception. My advice to the owner is to get some staff who actually know something about cooking and service. I 'd also advise that they eat a proper steak every now and again to understand what good tastes like. So overall I 'd have to say very disappointing and very expensive. Will not be returning.
