We were unsure where to dine in Stockbridge, so my husband used his smartphone to find a nearby restaurant with decent Google ratings. We arrived around 5:30 on a Thursday evening, and the place was nearly empty. It turns out that Fridays are the popular nights here, featuring an all-you-can-eat fresh fish and chips special. We each ordered a dinner, and the portions were generous enough for us to take some home for lunch the following day. I opted for the fish and clam strips, while my husband chose the 12 oz. prime rib, served with au jus, steamed vegetables, and mashed potatoes. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. The ambiance was a bit dark, but we could still read the menus without trouble. The restaurant had sturdy chairs and booths, which added to its charm. We parked on the main street, but there is parking available right in front of the restaurant.
The experience at this restaurant is quite inconsistent. I would advise against going on Medina's night, as it seems the cook is indifferent to quality. I decided not to try Medina's food, knowing better from past visits. Instead, I ordered the same dish I usually get, and it was disappointing yet again! I really wouldn't recommend it. The prices are too high for the quality and variety of the food offered.
From the start, we noticed that the atmosphere was completely different; it no longer smelled like old deep-fryer grease! The staff was friendly, courteous, and very attentive. And thankfully, there were no waitresses out front yelling at people anymore! We ordered a burger and fries—mine medium and my wife's well done (which I jokingly said was a bit unappetizing, ha!). It did take a little longer than I would have liked to receive our food, but my burger was cooked to perfection. As for the fries, they were far superior to those from McDonald's. Congratulations to the owner! We will definitely be back, and we're looking forward to when you get your beer and wine license. The staff did a great job with cleaning and providing a welcoming service. Please send me an email when the wine is available—I’m confident that your new staff will know the difference between a Cabernet and a Chardonnay. To everyone reading this, I encourage you to give them a try!
