We went to the Stirling planning on going to the bistro, but it was (as usual) crowded and noisy, so gave The Grill a go. What a great decision. Fantastic food and service and much quiet than the bistro. Prices weren't that much more than the bozo for full table service. Great menu, great food. View all feedback.
What Cade Mueller doesn't like about The Stirling Hotel:
Ok, being a Saturday night we were expecting a busy kitchen but after 5 attempted calls (a total of 20 minutes on hold!!) to the pizza bar and not one person bothering to answer we were not impressed!!! View all feedback.
Went there twice. First visit was great. Second visit was okay. I ordered medium rare steak and got almost well done :( it was a let down as i hate tough steak. Other dishes were nice though. Esp the duck.
Great food Good service Nice atmosphere. I have only been here for lunch and always been happy. The burgers are great and the cocktails are very elaborate.
Aahhhh Bliss! Who doesn’t love going for a drive to the Stirling Hotel? Pretty as a pic! I have been coming to this establishment for years now and have seen the menu change over and over and over again, which is not unusual, but I would like to make mention that I believe the standards have definitely changed over this time. I prefer the menus of years ago, a lot more interesting and better choices. Perusing the current menu, I was a little uninspired and found it a tad boring. Never the less, order we did! Started with duck spring rolls, nothing to rave about. Chose the special of the day, Barramundi, wedges, fennel salad, caponata. Barramundi cooked perfectly, wasn’t happy with wedges on this dish, for the money something much more interesting with the humble spud could have been created. I noticed there was no sauce on this dish, so I asked the kitchen if they had a sauce on hand to put with the fish, then I spotted the chimichurri butter on the menu so asked for this on the side. So glad I did, as the dish would have lacked moisture and flavour otherwise. Foodie mate had pulled pork burger, to which his reply was, not much flavour in this! Another mention was, why don’t they put any flavour into the pork, it was pretty flat. Had the lemon curd crumble for dessert, which was nice. I was disappointed in the presentation of the meals, I didn’t think they were up to scratch for this iconic establishment. Service was brilliant, as usual. On a personal note, I totally understand how busy this place gets and that service on the weekends would be cheffy hell, so menus need to be simple and quick. You can still achieve this and have an interesting menu as well. Would I return? Absolutely, I love the place! I just noticed that Adelaide Food Central's review looks amazing. There was nothing like those dishes photographed on the menu, what a shame, that's what I would have liked to eat!!

Superb place. Fast, friendly service from all the staff. Excellent food, with generous portion sizes. Great fit out and ambience. An all-round brilliant example of an Adelaide/Adelaide Hills 'pub', transformed into a sophisticated dining experience. Touché, Stirling Hotel!
