What User doesn't like about The Crooked Billet:
My friends and I went to this restaurant for a pre-booked birthday meal. The chef was walking around and there were people, including children and babies, going in and out of the kitchen. Unfortunately, many items on the menu were not available, but we were only informed after we had paid for our meal. The wait staff were wearing jeans and hoodies and seemed completely disinterested. I will definitely return to this restaurant in the future. I enjoy dining al fresco and the food was absolutely delicious. The fish and chips were authentic and flavorful.
No real ale available. the food delivered randomly and slowly to large group. several finished before they're finished. the personal is indifferent. furniture and decoration in the necessity of a renovation.
The personal seems uninterested. the place is old and grubby. chairs are rocky, tables are sticky and the doors have forged on them where they open their hands to press them. it is obviously not a proud one here of the administration. I was here with a friend of mine and went before I even finished my drink after I had said they had not eaten that I wanted to order. a real shame when I came here with my family. I wouldn't bring my children right away.
Met up with friends all had different meals but all were hot and enjoyable. Staff including chef friendly and helpful great Sunday lunch thank you
Working in Stevenage, I found The Crooked Billet online to enjoy some local lunchtime drinks with office colleagues. Easy to find, large car park, good location, friendly atmosphere, large bright table seated room overlooking common, also has external seating. Excellent guest ales, just perfect for...lunchtimes and or evenings after work.
