Complete turn around from previous visit it’s like a different place I assume there are new people running it now but fabulous little country pub on the fringe of St Evenage View all feedback.
What RuthW doesn't like about The Chequers:
One dinner came 10 minutes later than the others, and it was a salad! The chicken tasted burnt. There wasn't much lettuce or sauce. Very overpriced for what was on my plate. One meal came with mash and chips, after asking just for chips what a waste of food! The male waiter, whilst we have no complaint, seemed really out of his professional happy comfort zone. The food was delicious as always, but unfortunately the service was lacking today.
I had a disappointing experience at another restaurant due to poor service, but this place was a complete delight. The service was exceptional and the food was even better.
We enjoyed a delightful Sunday lunch at The Chequers today. Despite being busy, the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.
