What User doesn't like about Middelvlei Wine Estate:
Service was extremely slow and inattentive. White wines were served warm. The bill was slapped down on the table at 3pm, without asking if we wanted anything else or whether we'd like to take a bottle home. We would have happily ordered more to drink, had we known the whereabouts of our host. Instead we were content enough with eachothers company to chat over empty glasses until the card machine arrived at 4pm. Very... View all feedback.
Perfect amount of service given, not too nosy, but there if you need it. Great experience, great environment. Petting Zoo to take teenagers, big chattibg corners for adults. Was not dissapointed by the meal, promt service and delivery of food. decent presentation, suitable with the farm theme: no nonsense 'boere' food, with vegitarre and banting/low gi option. Since the Tin coffee cup really went home, a visit is recommended; be it for wine tasting or a meal.
Chilled and rustic looking with some great views of the rolling hills and background peaks, with a cool little animal enclosure with wallabys I think! Great wine (we went for the Pinotage and Rose) and great braai style food and good service. We went at the end of the month, when they happen to have a four piece live jazz band. The music was spectacular, we were making requests and dancing, it was great! (Wheelchair accessible as well)
The most down-to-earth, unpretentious wine farm you’ll find in Stellenbosch. Middelvlei is the closest you’ll get to the farm lifestyle on a wine farm. At the Middelvlei Boerebraai restaurant their resident braai expert prepares your chops, boerewors and chicken sosaties to perfection. The homely aromas of potbrood, braaibroodjies, homemade pâté and Ouma Annie's pumpkin fritters just make it even more special. The kiddies also get their own little braai box which contains French fries, boerewors, juice and jelly tots. The children can view and feed the farm animals which will keep them busy for hours, I can guarantee you! I would definitely recommend this authentic South African restaurant to anyone looking for a simple, delicious meal.
