Brauerei Gasthof Landwehr-Brau

We ate here whilst staying at the hotel in which it is located. Reservations needed - this is a popular place. Excellent local cuisine, coupled with fabulous beer brewed on site. Very tasty, decent portions, nice friendly service. Recommended.

Stayed in a hotel nearby that wasn't doing food that night but they recommended this place. We were not disappointed. Food was really tasty, prices were reasonable and service excellent. Decor was great as well. Deffinately going back next time I'm passing.

We stopped in the restaurant on our journey. This is a traditional place in all meanings of the word. The food is very traditional incl the deep fat frier. The service was somewhere between traditionally grumpy and very kind because we were foreign. The place seems to also have a brewery but we did not explore it. You can probably do worse than eating here but no need to go out of your way really.

This was our last meal after a week in Rothenburg, and as far as German cuisine, it was the best. It's a little small on the portion compared to most German restaurants, but 10x the quality. I had the roulade, and it was excellent. She had the pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce. I finished it for her, and it was excellent. You could taste that the food was made to order and FRESH. Price wasn't all that high considering how fancy the place is. I'd say it was fair.

Just can't fault the food here. Wonderfully simple rustic country German food, served with a smile by wonderful staff. Needless to say, the beer is wonderful
