Service We were looking fo... read more General After a shopping trip, today we made a trip to the Steinhuder Meer. The weather was good, a little slender when no wind left. Service We were looking for a shady place on the outside terrace. Under the awning was a little warm. The service has greeted us kindly and quickly received the beverage requests. The desire for ice cubes was promptly implemented. The order of the courts was also accepted in a reasonable time. The service always had a friendly word for the guests. The desire of older guests for smaller portions was of course taken without problems. The dishes used were quickly removed and the table was immediately wiped and prepared for the next guests. Food We ordered the following dishes: strips of matjes and salmon on potato roast, cream fraîche and salad dressing as well as roasted red bean fillet with remoulade, salad plate and roasted potatoes. Red bete juice gave the matjes strip the strong color, there was a slice of salmon, both tasted fresh. A small salad dressing and three potato roasts were added. The potato roasts were crispy and not greasy and soft, as often encountered and taste very good, so the desire for a supplement came up. The two redfish fillets were fried juicy and were served with sufficient remoulade. The roast potatoes were also crispy with onions and hammocks. The small colourful salad was crunchy fresh and was dressed with a light dressing. Very good taste. Ambience The restaurant is near the lake,but without direct lake views. The interior is simple and expedient with chairs in rattan style and simple tables provided with table runners. The table cover is also simple and expedient. The interior is appealingly bright due to the high open design with large electrically opening windows. In between, open beams are laid in ceiling height by the guest room, overall a harmonious overall picture results. The outdoor terrace is characterized by a high-quality seating and matching tables. In addition to a awning, a mixture of simple and high-quality parasols provides shade in beautiful weather. Cleanliness Everything makes a clean impression. The toilets make a relatively new impression and are also very clean. Disadvantage for older and/or disabled guests: The toilet is located on the first floor and can only be reached by stairs. I also found it questionable that the roast potatoes, which should be present at two dishes, came on a plate and correspond to a maximum of 1-1.5 portions.
