Our server explained it funds their 401k and health insurance. HUH???

We were a bit apprehensive about stopping here because there were so few cars in parking lot, but after entering, we saw this place probably draws a larger crow... read more We were a bit apprehensive about stopping here because there were so few cars in parking lot, but after entering, we saw this place probably draws a larger crowd after 6:00 when more people come to enjoy the bar and entertainment scene. Food was actually very good and Ellie, our server did a good job, considering she was the only person on the floor. This is obviously a nighttime entertainment venue as it promotes live music and festivals geared toward partying customers. We didn 't notice the 15% service charge in small print on the front of the menu (until reading all the complaints in Trip Advisor reviews). We assumed when we got the bill, that was for a tip, which was actually lower than what we traditionally give. Unfortunately, we assumed that went to our server, who we fear now may have ended up with no tip from us at all. We don 't appreciate this and will not be returning.

Place was b... read more Got back late from scalloping and Fiddlers was the only place open. Had been a few years ago and didn’t remember it being great so was apprehensive. Place was busy when we got there especially for a Monday night but by the time we ordered every table and the bar were full. The servers were still smiling and attentive and everything came out in a timely manner. Our party of 5 all enjoyed our food. Salad bar was fresh and a nice addition. Even with a short staff they pulled it off! We will be back!

WE noticed a 15% service charge on our bill and asked if that was part of the tip and was told by server and manager that was NOT part of a tip but to pay for t... read more WE noticed a 15% service charge on our bill and asked if that was part of the tip and was told by server and manager that was NOT part of a tip but to pay for the staff's health benefits and 401K. 1 drink at bar I paid over $2 in service charge and my dinner bill had over a $9 service charge that is included in the price you should tip on. Worst food and service in the HATCH!!!!!
