We stayed at Fontanehaus for a weekend. The ice cups were good. The wild dishes also tasted very good. Seriously. Only the breakfast buffet should be processed. The rooms are good and for 55€ in a double room with breakfast are quite cheap.
Small cozy guest house with friendly service and lazy kitchen staff. We ordered a Pils and a Berliner Weisse. The beer was a little scary and the Berliner Weisse did not come in special glass with usual foam crown. As an appetizer we had wild soup (just ok) and a ragout fin, which stood in the flour instead of a creamy consistency. The deer calf medallions were perfectly cooked and very delicate, along with red cabbage and dumplings, which certainly came from farther production. To sum up, this dish with a sweet salad leaf decoration was very tasty. The second dish, the 'speciality' of the house, Fontaneschmaus, disappointed by adding potato puree from the bag. Also mixed herbs could not overwhelm this taste. With a little more respect for the customer from the side of the kitchen, this place can be easily transformed into a very good and popular restaurant. Until then, it's more like moving to the neighboring Luisenhof.
Original restaurant with two cozy garden terraces. We had two marshes with plums, very tasty. Although we were there in the bumpy season on Saturday night, our order was quickly picked up and we didn't have to wait long for the food. We sat right under the Fontane-Linde on the back terrace.
We have been guided by the many positive reviews and tried the Fontanehaus. After a long day at the lake we were looking forward to good regional home cooking and were also ready to pay for it a little more. Unfortunately, we were negatively surprised. Except for the high prices, nothing corresponded to our expectations. There were ragout fin with press meat, carving with canned mushrooms and finished sauce, as well as potato puree from the bag. On request, the waitress confessed that on full day when much is going to be taken to the bag. Otherwise everything is fresh. We should have questioned this before. We didn't expect such an answer. It may be assumed that over 30 euros are cooked freshly. Unfortunately, the kitchen does not keep what promises the very beautiful old house from outside. Maybe we were there on a bad day. At any rate, the finished products could not convince the service. Of course we didn't expect 5 star kitchen. We are not particularly demanding either. A little more quality for our money would have been nice. Shame!
