We sat down for our reservation and felt ignored from the get go.After 30 minutes we asked the bar staff for beverages . The excuses that they gave us was that... read more We sat down for our reservation and felt ignored from the get go.After 30 minutes we asked the bar staff for beverages . The excuses that they gave us was that they were busy and were not prepared for the large number of walk ins that evening .We asked for mussels and were not provided with cutlery or napkins to eat them . We had requested bread three times , sadly there was no specific server assigned to our table as they were short staff ( an excuse) but appeared to have enough staff who were not interested In Helping each other.After multiple assurances that there was no shortage of items on the menu ( due to the rush that had occurred) we were advised an hour later that 2/3 of the orders were not available. This is where the lone bright spot occurred as the young sous chef took ownership of the situation and took the orders after 1.5 hours of waiting. To their defence , there were many new staff and there was no front manager taking charge .THe lack of leadership was highlighted when the owner who was served promptly on the outside deck was not willing to come into the restaurant to talk to us as we had requested .In summary, our bill was taken care of but the experience left more than enough to be desired for a restaurant that charges a premium for their meals.If this restaurant had more competition ( 3 restaurants in the area) they would truly be struggling to stay open. And to boot , we were staying at the hotel as guests which took 20 minutes to find a front desk staff member at 8pm toCheck us in!Recommend wait 6 months before trying to see if they can work out their kinks !!
