The coffee was great, the food we ordered wasn't that good, but we understood COVID affected their operation.
Small menu but very tasty. Nice spot for a drink and some food if you want to stay within the hotel
This little bistro attached to the Blackburn Inn was truly incredible. Had dinner with the sun setting in the background. Amazing service and the food was incredible. Mind you my wife and I are vegan. The atmosphere was to die for. Guitar playing on the patio, I would've given five stars just for sitting outside and having a drink, but the food was truly good.
Minimal menu, mediocre food. Outside seating is wonderful and inside seating is cramped and only suitable for 2 people per table. Service is fair. Beautiful location but the restaurant is no at all all on par with a boutique hotel.
We chose the combo breakfast. The bacon was plentiful but lacked crispiness and was rather salty, while the eggs were acceptable. Croissants are not covered by the voucher and incur an additional fee if you order them, as do cappuccinos or lattes— with the voucher, you only receive the house blend coffee. All in all, I doubt we will return; a single visit was enough for us. However, if you like cappuccinos and croissants for breakfast, this place might suit you—just avoid the artificially flavored juices.
Set within a beautifully restored 1920s hotel, the restaurant offers a postcard-perfect patio with live guitar, sunset views and thoughtful vegan and charcuterie options. Service is often attentive, but food quality is inconsistent — highlights include a solid charcuterie and memorable vegan dishes, while some entrées have been described as bland or dry. Indoor seating is intimate and cramped. The spot is ideal for drinks or romantic outdoor dining, but diners should be cautious for full dinner service given variable kitchen performance and occasional cleanliness concerns.

The hotel first opened its doors in 1924 and has since been beautifully updated with modern amenities. Designed by H. L. Stevens, it remains a fantastic example of the esteemed American architect’s work in the Colonial Revival style. It offers a wonderful opportunity to escape from traditional hotels. The room amenities are excellent, and the staff is outstanding.
Conference: beautiful building. Great staff. Food has been delicious! Parking garage attached. Would highly recommend! Walking distance to shops/ restaurants, sight seeing
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! David at the front desk checked us in, and he was exceptionally professional, friendly, and helpful. We spent one night in the historic wing of the hotel, and the room was cozy and perfect for us. Both the room and bathroom were clean, and the mattress and linens were very comfortable. The plush bath towels were a nice bonus too. We will definitely return for another stay at Hotel 24 South!
The hotel is in a perfect location and offers clean, well-equipped rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the king-size bed is very comfortable. Parking is also convenient with a garage located under the hotel. We spent three nights there while exploring the Shenandoah region and found it to be an excellent base for our adventures. While the hotel's restaurant is closed, they do provide basic breakfast items each morning, such as coffee, yogurt, and fruit. Additionally, there are plenty of great lunch options just a short walk away in the city center. The hotel also has laundry facilities for guests, which came in handy for us during our long road trip through the South. We look forward to returning!
Fantastic hotel! David, who checked my husband and me in at the front desk, was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. We spent one night in the hotel's older wing, and the room was cozy—perfect for us. Both the room and the bathroom were spotless, and the mattress and bed linens were extremely comfortable. The thick bath towels were a lovely addition too. We will definitely be returning for another stay at Hotel 24 South!

We had dinner at the Second Draft as an easy place to eat near our hotel room. Unfortunately we soon discovered that the food was not very good. The ?pan seared chicken? was some of the driest and blandest chicken that I have ever had the displeasure oftrying. On top of that there were flies everywhere and on top of the rest of the food it made me feel nauseous. My girlfriendis currently experiencing stomach pains as I type this review?not a good look One credit the waitress did end up trying tofix our order by swapping out the chicken for another protein (the beef tips). But ultimately that can?t wipe this from my mind avoid and go local if necessary. The charcuterie board was good though. Maybe if you have that and leave it would be worth it
The food was amazing! The ribs were simply mouthwatering. The staff was exceptionally friendly and addressed all our inquiries. I highly recommend checking out this delightful little gem.
Everything at Blackburn is incredibly fresh and delicious. We absolutely adore it!
On a positive note, our waitress did try to make things right by offering to replace the chicken with beef tips, but it didn't completely make up for the disappointment we felt overall. I suggest you avoid this restaurant and choose a local eatery instead. The charcuterie board was decent, so if you decide to visit, that might be the only thing worth trying before you go.
