We stopped in for a tour, tasting, and cocktails on a Sunday afternoon and had a lovely experience! We wish we had found this location sooner and we can’t wait to visit again! The tour guide and bartender were informative and friendly. Our tour guide is a history teacher and shared a wealth of knowledge about whiskey in NC that we really enjoyed hearing! We’re big whiskey drinkers and we went home with a few bottles.... View all feedback.
A buddy and I had passed by Southern Distilling for a number of years always saying we need to stop and check it out. We finally did and what an awesome place. A great space for the tasting room, inclusive of a small bar and comfortable seating available to enjoy your beverage/s. They also feature a retail area with all of their product along with various other branded items, shirts, glassware etc. All very tastefully done. We decided to take a tour of the distillery and so glad we did. You go behind the seens to see how the product is produced and the great lengths they go for quality. It lasted ~45 minutes with the end a sampling of 6 of their products, tasty! Our guide took his time to both present the distillery as well as answer your questions. all for $15. We then went to the bar to had a drink before leaving and the bartender were awesome, very friendly, knowledgeable and fun. A great time, and would highly recommend!
Great tour experience for just $15! Even if you are not into whiskey the tour is interesting and well worth it once the tour is over you have the opportunity to sample Southern’s entire line up of locally made whiskeys. You can also purchase cocktails separate from the tour and hangout at their bar.

We’re big whiskey drinkers and we went home with a few bottles. We really enjoyed the double rye and we felt that the bourbon cream was out of this world! I think any non-bourbon drinker would still enjoy the informative tour and the bourbon cream- it would be amazing in an espresso martini or even straight as a dessert cocktail. The tasting room has such fun decor and don’t miss the cute donkeys at the entrance!
Very nice in depth tour. Large variety of whiskey, enjoyed all of whiskies that we tasted!
What a wonderful place to enjoy an afternoon. Great, informative tour by a friendly guide. Fun Tasting after the tour. Nice to see small local business offering this niche. Beautiful grounds and buildings. And, I got a Christmas present taken care of. Definitely go if you are into this.
