Shima Japanese - Stanwood

Always super yummy and very fresh! A pleasant surprise for such a small town. On busy nights you may wait 30 minutes for food.

It took me a while to try this restaurant, for no particular reason, but wow did it knock my socks off. First I wanna say, good, quality ingredient and expertly made sushi, is not necessarily cheap. I like grocery store 6$ roll sushi as much as the next guy, but it doesn't compare to what Shima has to offer. Great place to try sake with your sushi too! It was small and intimate, seems like a nice place to take a date or long time lover. Between my party we had 4 different rolls, and split 3 dinners. I especially liked the chicken katsu and Seattle Roll. The options they have are great, I typically like small menus but I think the choices are appropriate for sushi. 10/10, will come again! My only note, and it's hard to find, I wish the carried authentic Wasabi root, Wasabi, even for an extra charge would be alright.

Amazing. Delicious. No other way to start this review. Great food with a cute atmosphere. Portions are very large and it is easy to over-order. But do it and take it home.

My husband and I never really did a lot of sushi and weren't ready to dive into any sushi restaurant... but we heard that this was a top basket and we were so impressed! It's hard to believe that such a fabulous sushi place is in Stanwood! We tried 6 different reels, an appetizer, the Teriyaki, and the baked chicken and all were delicious! Definitely worth the ride when you are out of town, and if you are in town lucky you!

The food was absolutely fresh. Full taste. And the waiter doesn't find a better group of people. We recommend it
