Recommended by locals we were very happy we made the effort to call in. What a gorgeous local deli with an array of quality goodies on offer. The eat in menu was fantastic, but we had already had breakfast so we decided to go for a morning tea of their freshly home baked (flourless) Cake and Coffee. Wow totally scrumptious. I LOVE places like this, I get so excited I don't know where to look first!? :) The shelves were full of amazing local and international first rate products. My husband lets out a nervous sigh as he knows I am going to buy something else to take home.....but he is "secretly" very happy to be also a partner in crime later! :)
This would have to be one of the most disappointing breakfast experiences I've ever had!We fronted up at around 10.00 am on a Sat morning to be told there would be a 20 minute wait on coffee and a 45 minute wait for food. Really? Was it a complete surprise to the owner that they would be packed out on a weekend in the middle of the high season for this town? How about planning ahead and rostering sufficient staff to cater to the people swarming in in search of a timely serving of a meal and hot beverage? We opted to order anyway and after around an hour our "Big Fry Up" was placed before us.The owner must have taken her lead from a famous burger franchise where the word "Big" actually means entirely the opposite! We were faced with a rather meagre plate of food consisting of the smallest eggs money can buy, one small sausage, some wafer thin slices of shaved ham, some even finer feather light shavings of fried pancetta, precisely one small spinach leaf and three leaves of rocket! Oh and a stack of toasted bread. Yep, all the toast you can eat, but just one tiny portion of butter. All of that for the meagre sum of just $23.00.What a **** joke! I certainly won't be back.
We had a breakfast voucher here as part of the package we had with our hotel It is up to the value of $15 each. I had the pancetta and poached eggs.
We have breakfast here on day 1 of our annaul visit to Stanthorpe and after 5 years I can't fault them.
