We ordered this as a family and were delighted with the presentation, taste and value of our meal. a wonderful experience!
Located in a small town in Tasmania, Jacos Fusion Bistro offers a commendable selection of Asian cuisine, despite some pricing that might be considered a bit high. We stumbled upon this spot while exploring the area, alongside other local gems like The BB Stamps of Stanley and Cornell Lyn, where the smoke-infused atmosphere adds to the experience. Jacos boasts an appealing website that promises extraordinary Asian fare with unique flavors aimed at those who appreciate divine culinary experiences. Having traveled extensively through Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Vietnam, we take pride in our understanding of Asian cuisine and have dined in some of the finest Michelin-starred establishments in challenging locations. This led us to ponder whether Jacos is simply ambitious for a restaurant in a smaller town or if the website is a generic template mimicking a renowned venue. Kudos to the chef for crafting a diverse menu that includes flavors from Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, and Korean cuisines. During our visit on Valentine's Day 2020, we kicked off our meal with a variety of sushi ($12) and herbal tempura ($10), which were both fresh and flavorful. For our main courses, we chose Korean BBQ-style brisket with steamed jasmine rice and bok choy ($28) and a Szechuan escape breast accompanied by orange and fennel salad ($30). Unfortunately, the menu missed a fish option, but both dishes were well-prepared and infused with beautiful flavors, complemented by a glass of Leconfield Cabernet Merlot 2009 ($75). To satisfy our sweet tooth, we ended our meal with pink Anvers chocolate and an Anvers chocolate spear dessert ($16), which rounded off an enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant uses a 'Square' payment system, which is convenient, though it does come with a downside: the suggestion for tips can feel somewhat pressured, especially with preset options appearing on the screen. This can detract from the overall experience, as we prefer tipping to be more discretionary. It’s evident that Jacos seeks to distinguish itself from local options like the Stanley Hotel and Hursey Seafood, offering a more refined dining experience. Given that modern Australian cuisine still has a long way to go in many areas, Jacos stands out as possibly the best dining choice in Stanley, showcasing an interesting menu and quality Asian cuisine.

Had a great 3rd wedding anniversary dinner in this new restaurant in Stanley. Great asian fusion food just what is needed on the NW coast. I had the bao buns which were amazing, followed by the pork belly adobo. Don't know where else you could get that around here. My wife had the dim sum which was also delicious followed by the prawn and chicken pad thai with beautifuly cooked prawns. We then shared the anvers chocolate sphere that was a perfectly balanced choc raspberry ice cream dessert. Will definitely go back.
