This is the best retail fresh fish outlet we have discovered in the UK. It beats, for example, Etaples in the Pas de Calais we regularly visit, though Etaples has a greater variety of species for sale . What david howson doesn't like about Whitby Seafish:
Bought two crabs to dress myself. They were not opened in shop and it was only when back at holiday home found out full of a watery sloppy mess. We are lovers of crab and have them on a regular basis but have never been sold such poorly prepared crab £10 down the drain. Very disappointed. View all feedback.
Smoked salmon, haddock and traditional killers all smoked locally to delicious affect. A local business offering superb sea food at reasonable prices.

An essential visit when we are in North Yorkshire and we take home copious amounts to Kent frozen for later consumption.
Sold us some out of date cooked crab but were quick enough to give us a refund the next day (if not exactly apologetic about it!
Just had the best fresh cod we have in years from Staithes fish. Shop at the top of the car park. Thanks Stephen in York.
