What Helen Williams doesn't like about The Dog Doublet Inn:
This charming country pub, recently renovated, exudes a friendly and elegant atmosphere with a touch of history. The walls are adorned with old photos and the dining area is located in the former coach entrance to the back yard. The food, typical of a pub, is of good quality with generous portions available at the carvery, served until late. There may be specific nights for playing skittles, but it's best to confirm.... For the main course, I opted for the fillet steak with thick chips, while others at the table had salmon, steak pie, or sea bass – all of which received positive reviews. We all indulged in desserts, with a variety to choose from, and finished off with a cheese board. Overall, the experience was excellent – we weren't rushed, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great, and the food was more than good, it was fantastic. We left feeling full and slightly tipsy, despite the higher prices, the quality of the meal made it well worth it. I will certainly be returning for another meal in the future. I would rate this venue highly.
