I have had a not so good experience with duck before so decided to give a final try and am so glad I did...the Duck Confetti with the orange jus was succulent. Friend had the mushroom for starter but was a bit salty. His beef main was polished off. He liked his strawberry cheesecake more than the bite of my creme brûlée but I liked my brûlée more View all feedback.
What Bert L doesn't like about Bistro Le Coq:
Called in for tea cakes and tea as it is a tea room but heard staff in kitchen moaning about us. Didn’t say anything at the time as didn’t want to upset my friend. We had tried to visit for a meal earlier in week but it was shut when last orders for food are 3.30 and we arrived at 3pm. Considering it has just reopened there is little effort to attract loyal customers. View all feedback.
Eating was nicely cooked and well presented, cream brulee had a fantastic caramelized crust. it is worth visiting if you want some cozy, from where to eat with good food and service.
We recently visited a birthday meal here. it was my first visit and I could not harm the service and quality of food. there was a big party of us and nothing was too much annoyed, even though there were many of us, it didn't take too long to get there. nice eating and very friendly staff.
Visited after seeing the signs to this place dotted around Amerton. I’ve always wondered what to expect from this place and when the time came to visit I wasn’t surprised as it lived up to my expectation I had expected it to be slightly low key and humble and that’s exactly what it is. It’s essentially a pub which used to be called ‘The **** Inn’ that has an area set aside for dining with a French theme. The food on the menu looks great, they do not compromise and offer crowd pleasing favourites, instead sticking to their roots and offering all French dishes. I was slightly underwhelmed with the basa dish I had, presentation was spot on but not impressing me with the taste, my wife loved her mussels though so maybe I choose the wrong dish, other reviews so nothing but great things about the food. Love that they have a guestbook to sign, it makes interesting reading while you’re there.
Have been going for years, always consistently excellent food. Friendly staff, great place.
Our second visit and again a super lunch at a reasonable price. cordial thanks, and we are again for more! update dec19 we are a bit disturbed to note that this fine institution has changed its name and now the main court is a kind of burger. and it now also opens to the breakfast, 2 speck 2 eier style. Luckily, the French lunch menu was still available last week and can take it long. we do not make our one-hour journey for speck, eier and burger! we wish them in future sincere luck and good business:
