We had some of the best Mexican food we've had in a long time at this restaurant. The staff were fantastic and the atmosphere was lively. Despite the crowded restaurant, the service was still excellent. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Jarochita:
We normally have a great experience but yesterday was awful. The service was awful and our waitress ignored us about 75% of the time. It was busy so we were very patient. Food was forgotten, meals were held up and sides were never delivered. This is unexcusable when all tables around us had gotten their correct food, ate and left while we waited. We expressed our upsetness and explained each issue, and nothing was do... View all feedback.

Food was forgotten, meals were held up and sides were never delivered. This is unexcusable when all tables around us had gotten their correct food, ate and left while we waited. We expressed our upsetness and explained each issue, and nothing was done, not even an apology. Very very disappointing as we have been going here since they opened!

Best Mexican food not in Mexico. I can't get to the shore without stopping here, and you get enough tortillas to last the whole weekend (if you can hide them from your family).
I needed a late dinner before the beach for home, spouse and I were always frustrated by long waits or exorbitant prices at a half-dark happy cow listings in the beach town. While on the bridge from the city, I found from other online sources La Jarochita in the nearby mainland town of Manahawkin. I'm glad it worked this way, because this restaurant was a great find. The free chips and mols (a caliente y picante black bean and an orange sun-dried tomato concoction) were fresh and good. My Burrito vegano, prepared with generous amounts of fresh and slightly boiled mushrooms, onions, peppers, squash and spinach, was one of the best burritos I ever had. It came with a beautifully prepared and delicious side salad, spicy black beans and spicy rice. The outdoor seating area has charm and our server could not have been more attentive and helpful despite the late hour. She was very familiar with what went into all the dishes and sat down to our dietary needs.
