Simple and boring food that seems to be made of convenience products. Not very yummy but gets rid of hunger. Service ok but not very friendly. Restrooms were not clean and the toilet seat was broken.
Bread potatoes, a burger almost raw, in the other a small metal piece. Culence? Not available. Clear conclusion: never again!!!
This is a very nice place, located right in the center of the (old) Stade. Fortunately, time is moving forward again in some areas, albeit 'slowly... '. When I stayed here in the 1970s, everything was still typically German. Delicious potatoes with sour cream, 'kartoffelsalat ' that was impossible to resist..., yes, but more importantly: we were still really free at that time and clearly (much) less prudish than the young people of today. There were plenty of discos in every city, contrast that with the stuffy 'watching screen together '. A generation is currently being lost before that insight will resurface. Back to ´´Thai Tonic´´. What 's nice about this store is that when the weather is nice, the entire front of the store can be opened! That fact, together with a phenomenal view over the old Hanseatic harbor with its monumental crane with which goods from half of Europe were unloaded, makes a stay in the establishment a unique moment. I agree with another Dutch reviewer that the place looks hipper from the outside than from the inside, but there 's no one who makes a real point of that. The service when we were there was really above average, the owner clearly has an eye for that, for good staff, and must therefore be an expert in this industry. I took pictures of everything, take advantage of them! We will definitely return to Stade, the last 'not prudish beach ' in the entire region, unbelievable actually the decline in that area...is just around the corner. Once again, we are way ahead in the Netherlands. Even then in the 1970s, we brought the latest music for the discos in Bremervörde and Stade on cassette tapes from home in the Netherlands.... Thai Tonic, a rather strange name... but despite that, what As far as I 'm concerned, it 's definitely worth a visit. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
