Very tasty Currey dish. Pad Thai was quote good. Could ask to have spice added I'd desired. Might be night to have some shaved carrot other veg. It seemed like an authentic pad Thai that said. Far better than the other Thai place in town.Server was very pleasant and helpful in answering questions.Would be eager to see more dishes added for variety versus rice noodles choices. What Mark Family Tree doesn't like about Lotus Thai St Thomas:
The food was not authentic Thai food at all. Maybe they used some Thai spice dry rub or something, but my curry was not curried properly and the Masaman dish tasted the same just with pineapples. The rice was mush. Maybe 5 minute rice. The food was slop with some sort of Thai spice added. I will never get food from there ever again. Also, when I get Thai food and I say sawadika, I expect them to at least know that. T... View all feedback.
We have always enjoyed Lotus Thai and often order takeout. This time, however, we decided to dine in and share the all-day special. We were surprised to find out there was a $2.00 surcharge for the beef, which is totally understandable; we might have just overlooked that detail. What we found truly outrageous was the $5.00 fee for sharing the meal. How can they justify charging $5.00 when they don’t offer the meal in a lunch portion? We really love this place, but this is just unreasonable! Please do better, Lotus Thai.
The food lacked authenticity and didn't resemble traditional Thai cuisine at all. It seemed like they might have used a dry rub with some Thai spices, but my curry was poorly prepared, and the Masaman dish tasted similar, just with added pineapples. The rice was mushy, reminiscent of instant rice. Overall, the food felt more like a slop with a hint of Thai spices. I won’t be returning for takeout. Additionally, when I greet them with "sawadika," I expect them to understand it, but they looked at me in confusion. Kahpoonkahp.
This restaurant is fantastic, offering delicious food and exceptionally courteous staff.
We came across a post about this restaurant in a St. Thomas Facebook group and decided to try it for dinner. We were not disappointed! The portions were HUGE and the food was excellent. My husband and I ordered the All Day Special chicken Pad Thai, and it was absolutely delicious. After just a few generous bites, I requested a to-go box, and it was filled to the brim. The pork dumplings were incredibly crispy and tasty; the crunch from those fried dumplings was just perfect. The spring rolls were also delicious and had a nice crispiness to them. Overall, it was a wonderful meal and a great value for the money.
The Pad Thai and golden curry were incredibly flavorful, and the portion sizes were quite generous! The restaurant has a tidy layout, and the service was relatively quick (the chilled glasses were a nice touch!). However, the staff could have been a bit friendlier. I visited on the evening of June 18th.
