This restaurant has a stunning ambiance, featuring charming old Italian decor. The food is superb overall; however, I found the risotto to be a bit too al dente for my taste—it had a slight crunch in the center, indicating it might not have been fully cooked. On the positive side, the carpaccio was remarkable, and the pappardelle pasta with Bolognese sauce was equally fantastic. View all feedback.
What KenC doesn't like about Dominic's On The Hill:
I made a reservation for 8:15, which was the earliest time available. We arrived on time and ordered drinks. The waiter returned at 8:25 to inform us that the kitchen would be closing at 9:00 and that we needed to place our food order soon. While the food was good, the rushed experience didn’t match the prices we paid. The service was subpar, and I doubt I’ll be back anytime soon. View all feedback.
I'm from Chicago, this restaurant was recommended by a friend who regularly travels to St. Louis. The atmosphere was charming for a formal restaurant, the lighting was very low and the lighting stayed changing during our meal. I didn't know there was a dress code while my wife and I were well dressed my two teenage sons wore dress shorts and shirts that the hostess didn't approve and had a chip on her shoulder when we came in. The food was nothing special. The service we received from the waiters and bus boys was excellent!!!! I ordered an old fashion as my appetizer drink and the Bourbon was great, they garned it with a Maraschino cherry that I would have a kids cocktail or top an ice cream on Sunday, I expected a more gourmet dinner with my for a fine Bourbon cocktail
What a wonderful dinner!! Dominic personally came to our table several times to make sure that all?s food was perfect Joe was great!! We came from Nashville on a business trip and stayed an extra night just to get to this restaurant.
My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here. It was such a lovely balance of delightful ambience, old-school service and class combined with amazing flavors accenting the quality food. An unforgettable experience. I particularly appreciated the quality of the food presented as well as the attentiveness of all of the wait staff. They were a perfect balance of attentive but not too familiar. A highlight was meeting Dominic in person, as he was roaming from table to table greeting each of his guests on the evening we were there. A truly wonderful evening.
The dinner here was absolutely spectacular! Presentation of tableware, meals the service from the amazing servers, EXCELLENT! Every bit of our time this evening was excellent. Magical! I highly recommend this place for a romantic evening, family dinner or just to get an absolutely delicious meal. Love this place, truly.
Great service, food was SO good. We had the salmon app, chicken, steak, and fresh pasta.. Definitely will be back
