we had an amazing, warm and friendly experience here. the meal was beautiful and medical. it seems, however, that their regular buffet times have changed until further notice. Please call the number listed above before they leave the road. we were invited to eat with punch and the others, and they served us a delicious meal of rice, brewed yellow lenses, slowly cooked vegetables including white potatoes, green beans,... What User doesn't like about Govinda's:
I've been here a few times, but after my last experience I don't think I will go back. I do not share the same religious beliefs as the Hare Krishna and am a vegan, and one employee was trying to convince me to eat the dairy items/not be a vegan anymore! I personally felt that was way over the line. Also, I asked which buffet items were vegan and was incorrectly told that a dessert containing ghee (clarified butter)... View all feedback.
After I heard many good things about Govinda's and after I tried several times to catch them while they were open, I finally made it in May 2008. The first thing I noticed was that it was 't spotless, but I also know that the appearance is not everything when it comes to great food. I looked at the buffet; it wasn't as big as I thought it could be, but that wasn't biggie. But I was a little pricked that there were no labels on or above the food. I like to know what I eat and what I see. However, the lady behind the register was ready to stand up and come to help me with my vegan selections when asked. The food was very cold, so I really couldn't enjoy it. The brown rice was very tasty, but that was the point. Everything else seemed to slander (to me). It was not bad food, it was simply not impressive enough to get me out of the way to visit again. But the price was extremely affordable!
This restaurant offers excellent vegetarian dishes in a serene atmosphere. The chaos of the outside world will be waiting for you when you leave, but inside, you can enjoy a peaceful meal without any distractions.
I dined at this restaurant once when I was in college. I had to attend a religious service there for a mission. I was impressed by the service of Krishna, despite not being religious myself, and was happy that I had visited. As a result of attending the service, I got to enjoy the dinner buffet for free! It was delicious. However, every time I try to go back on weekends, they are closed, so be sure to check their hours before you go. My friend, who is from here, has eaten there multiple times and always raves about how good it is. I hope to return soon. Upon reflection, I may have overestimated this place. 4/5 stars.
We had a fantastic, welcoming experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and satisfying. However, it appears that their usual buffet hours have been temporarily altered. It is recommended to call the number provided above to confirm before visiting. We were warmly welcomed with a refreshing beverage and served a delicious meal consisting of rice, lentils, mixed vegetables (potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, okra, carrots, onions, and peppers), flatbread, lemon water, and two desserts.
