Vibe Cafe Restaurant - St Kilda

We went to Vibe on one of our free days during the Easter holidays and even though the Restaurant got slammed in literaly five minutes after the end of a show the service and the food was excellent!The waitress was really nice and had a really good wine knowledge. As I could not deside what to pick from the menu she gave her suggestions to me which showed me that she actually knows about the menu and is well informed.I ordered the Seafood Pasta and my friends went for the Porcini and Truffle Oil Risotto as well as the Proscuitto and Rocket Pizza with Shaved Parmesan. It was absolutely lovely. Not just the recomendation of the waitress was exactly right but also the taste of the food was delicious!I will definately return and have another dinner there!

We usually follow the general rule and don't go into an empty restaurant. However, we were hungry and couldn't get into the surrounding restaurants. On arrival, we ordered some wine from the very limited menu and knew something was wrong when our four wine glasses came out in different shapes and sizes. We then chose the bruschetta from the basic menu. What we actually got was a piece of burnt white bread with a very small amount of unflavoured tomato and onion on top. As for the mains, the guys ordered the scotch fillet (medium rare) and when it came out it was **** as hell. The guys asked that the steaks be cooked further, but when they returned from the kitchen they were still resembling road-kill. The seafood pasta and veal medallions were passable. In addition, two people from the table next to us ordered the squid salad. They actually returned their meals and refused to pay because the squid stunk on the plate and tasted off. Overall, the service was ok but we get the feeling the waiter knew the food was bad because he couldn't look us in the eye and didn't question whether we had enjoyed our meals! I'd give this one a miss and try one of the other restaurants in the area.

Average food, too expensive for what you get. Amazing desserts to, next time I'll go just for the chocolate fondant!

I stayed at Base backpackers right down the street and always noticed this place was full of people.

I arrived early knowing full well this place gets busy staring from my window at the Airbnb apartment I was staying across the road.
